Clear Acrylic??

I was looking at a project called comic shoes, and i was completely blown away at how cool that would be. However, i have no clue what clear acrylic is. Is it the same as modge podge? Could i get it at Hobby Lobby or another craft store? Is it a liquid or in sheets?? Im so confused..somebody please help me!

Is it to seal the shoes? If it is then it's a liquid you're after. And you could probably get it at Hobby Lobby (I don't know for sure because I'm a UKer and we don't have it here, but from what I've heard places like Hobby Lobby and Michaels seem to sell pretty much everything haha). Or art supply shops would probably sell it.

Well I made a version of the comic shoes. I used Mod podge as the initial gluing and first few coats. I was wondering what acrylic sealer was too Tongue Mod podge is no good as it is not water tight. I used an "artists vernish gloss" to seal it (although I haven't got them wet yet so I don't know how water tight that is) another name for it is Polyurethane.
