help me :(

okay i been making my list for what I plan on making for everyone in my family and my local pals.

Now the only person I am mentally challenge in what to make is for my own husband. He is in the army, he likes gaming, drawing, computers, tv, playing pool and overal a smart ass.

Last xmas he was away overseas and I made him that journal(in my profile)with pics of us and the kids randomly inserted thru the journal.

I am going brain dead. I dont want to make him another pen case from a previous birthday either. So any ideas that will make him go "SWEET!!" will be great guys.

mmmhhh.. Maybe you can make some little things like a videogamefigure of his favourite game to decorate his closet when he is away in the Army and maybe some kind of family inspired present like a tag which looks like the ones in the Army but with your family pictures and dates on it. (think it´s easy to make one out of shrinky dinks ^^)

It´s so hard to tell you something..I don´t know what you are allowed to use in the army or what he needs when he is oversea oO Happy

If he is an 8bit gamer, I make those perler things for a couple bucks. I include a magnet to put on the fridge and such. Another idea, is you could make him a basket of things he likes. Maybe put a game in there, some artist profile books, movies, and maybe make some cupcakes shaped as those pool ball things...I donno what they are called...You know what I mean! lol

ideas that i have so far is taking those black portfolios that he has all his drawings and tattoo flash he makes and draw a kewl "tattoo" on the cover designed by me. I been doodling and I came up with an 8 ball and its almost like a comet with a tail of fire, and there is a halo around the 8 ball with the numbers 143*79*81*03*06. The numbers 143 is our way of saying I(1) love(4) you(3) and then the rest of the numbers is all over our birth years. Happy kewl huh?

Next I want to make a sketch book Using 2 regular size photos of me and him and the kids so he can take it with him to work, or out and about so if he wants to draw or sketch something down he has something.

I am not sure if i want to steal his house shoes and take that same design i want to use for his portfolio for the shoes...i am still thinking about it.

I also using that online lanuage translater and Ariel Grimm's idea of a love letter and write him a letter in french on some really kewl artistic crafty paper. Happy

I just have to get this done while he isnt looking. perferably him at work or him shooting pool Happy tee hee Happy

Hows that guys?

wow that´s neat.. ^^
I love tattoos..
and the sketch book idea is so sweet ;)
I think it would be funny to have the same picture on his shoes.. and the design sounds cool for a men. ( I mean its not too feminine to wear it on shoes when you are a guy) It´s unisex.. ^^*yay*

I´m not sure about this letter.. I can speak a little bit french and like most of this translator they translate word for word.. That sometimes sounds so dumb and has a lot of mistakes..

Just like using the google-translator ^^ I think the idea is really cool but I don´t like all the terrible grammar mistakes that you get in those letters.

But I think that would be funny when you want to make it as a joke (like using Rusian or something like that ^^ which sound very gruff I think *g*) and not in a romantic way..

But when he can´t speak French then it doesn´t matter.. Then I would do it ^^Because french language sounds also very romantic even when it has a lot of grammar mistakes ^^

You could try making things out of old computer parts if you have access to any old computers (maybe check the local thrift store). I've seen keychains made out of keyboard keys, circuit boards, etc. Here's a how to article for making circuit board earrings that could be adapted to make a keychain. http://www.instructables.com/id/Geeky-Circuit-Board-Earrings/ I've also seen circuit boards made into covers for journals/sketchpads, clip boards, pencil cups, and other office supplies. You could make a small box out of computer parts, or a picture frame...See where your imagination and creativity can take you with using these things.

Since he likes gaming maybe you could use pictures from a gaming magazine and decoupage them to something like a box or picture frame, or whatever you think would be great.

I think maybe you can also make this really cool belt for your hubby...

I have seen him on dawanda in the internet but it´s really easy to make I think...

All you need is a bicycle tube and a belt buckle and maybe something to make the hole in the belt ;)

A great gift idea for anyone close to you is a personalized, decoupaged wooden box. I'll be posting instructions as soon as I can, but here are the basics:
- Get a nice, empty wooden cigar box from your local cigar shop - they're usually free or super cheap. In you're case I'd get the biggest one they have. To get rid of the cigar smell, just put a fabric softener sheet in it for about two days.
- Remove the stickers, fill the engraved portions will wall filler, sand it down, and prime it for best results.
- Decoupage pictures of your choice on the top and all four sides. I recommend pictures of you and your family, but just use whatever he'd appreciate the most.
- On the inside of the top, write a little note to him - he'll appreciate the though.
- On the bottom, write the To/From information and the date so you two will always remember when it was made.
He'll be able to use this box to store your letters, small gifts, trinkets, change, etc. and each time he uses it, he'll think of you!

I made one for my step-mother after her son died. I put picture of him all over the box and put an antiqued finish on it. It's meant for her to put little notes to him in when she's thinking of him.

*hugs*
~Lisa
