FIRST ETSY SALE! :D

I have an online shop for my mom's Baby Diaper Cake business.. and I hadn't sold a single thing for about 4 months now, and finally out of the blue, BAM! I randomly get any email about someone buying one! haha I am just so uber excited about it.
There are a ton of people on etsy selling the same thing I am so I've been a little discouraged about trying to sell on there.

What's your business on etsy?
How long did it take to make your first sale?

ALSO: if you know anyone having a baby.. check out my shop! :] here's a pic of what I sell there for my mom:

Their body is made up of diapers, and decorated with different necessary baby accessories!
Thanks for looking~

Congrats on your first sale!
When I opened my Etsy shop, I made a sale the first night I started listing things. I was selling scarves and hats... just general winter things and some jewelry. Sales came to a halt for a while, so I closed my shop for a while until I decided to start selling soaps.

Sales have been few and far between all along, but that's typical for someone who doesn't get featured in the Etsy emails, since they're all about people who make 100 sales a day by reselling cheap storebought crap like glass pendants and charms.

thanks guys! Happy

@ Joss, aw :/ yeah.. I was really expecting to NEVER make a sale, but I thought it was at least worth a try. I am still baffled by the fact they actually bought one of ours. I would love to see your shop tho! :]

@ Monika, yeah I usually browse those emails and the things they sell are soo expensive! but definitely great finds. I could find a ton of great things at thrift shops to resale but I just don't think people will actually buy my stuff. I guess it's all just preference to everyone.. they will buy it if it is exactly what they want. I need to stop being so lazy and try that out too. :p

Also, I'd love to look at your stuff Monika! I love looking at other people's stores Happy
My boyfriend's family actually makes and sells soaps also. They sale them at our town's local farmer's market and not online though :x

I've been thinking about selling mine at farmer's markets. They apparently happen every Tuesday in town, so I'll have to look into them. I had a sale at a jewelry gallery and did okay, so I imagine a more public farmer's market might have an even better result.
