Etsy type shop in UK

Hi I am new here but have noticed many people talking about their Etsy shop. Now, I have looked into this but am I right in thinking it's just an American thing?
I have done some research but does anyone know of anything (that is good and reputable) in the UK?
Thanks

You could try Folksy which I think is UK based and I'm with Dewanda which is a European based site so you price things in Euros. I had an Etsy shop but stopped using it as you get charged for listing items. I prefer Dewanda as they charge a commission from the items you sell over 10 euros which I think is much better.

I have a shop on Folksy, which is like etsy but based in UK. At the moment, they only allow UK sellers, and it was free until recently, but they have started charging listing fees now. The problem is, not many people seem to know about Folksy yet!
My shop is : http://www.folksy.com/shops/BlackUnicornDesigns

Almost a year late reply - so you may not see it - I help an etsy shop owner pack and post her sales, I'm not an etsy seller but for sure I buy way too much on it. I wouldn't say Etsy is just an American thing. It's American in as much as it was created in the Brooklyn and of course is used by loads of Americans but there are actually thousands and thousands who buy from Etsy outside the US and as many non Americans who sell.

You might just want to give it a try. Also given the large % of buyers from Europe : there's clearly a market there, so it would be great to see a Euro-Zone similar system gain the press attention Etsy has - which was due to it's general popularity. I've read posts above and seems there are two places to look at. All the best

There's also Zibbet which I'm not sure if it's European or US based or AUS based, but it's free to list and it's what I use, although I have no stock yet. It should be open within the next few months Happy
