Harley Quinn costume help!

This year my boyfriend and I are dressing up as the Joker and Harley Quinn for Halloween and -- as always -- I'm pre-stressing about the costume preparation. I'm unsure of what fabric type I should use to create the classic comic book jump suit she wears. I've already counted out vinyl because it's too unforgiving for me, but I would preeeefeeer something with a little shine. Any advice/wisdom/questions appreciated! c:
