Could We PLEASE Have The Option To Delete Forum Threads?!

The title says it all really. I want to be able to delete a thread and all I can do is edit the first post to say the thread is dead. The trouble is nobody takes any notice of the first post or indeed any other post in a bid to get in what they want to say. It is very disheartening.
Also it would be helpful for anyone posting a swap thread to be able to edit the thread title so that people know when partners are posted or the swap is closed etc.
