I read Frankenstien last year and that was amazing. Nothing like I was expecting. I thought I had an idea of the story but its far more complex in the book. Dracula was v v good too, although I've never been that taken with any of Bram Stokers others. They're very nicely written but the stories aren't a patch on Dracula. I've recently bought 100 classics for my DS and I'm reading The Secret Garden and loving it. I'm hoping to read a bit more of Jane Austen, I read Persuasion earlier in the year and I liked her style and it has all of hers on it Happy

I'd consider classics to be:

Jane Austen, The Bronte Sisters, Dickens etc etc

I enjoyed Jane Eyre, I want to read Dorian Grey, I watched the film and it was ok... but I've heard that the book is ALOT better!!

Wuthering Heights and The Canterbury Tales are among my favourite books. I think I prefer Marlowe to Shakespeare though. I like Jane Austen's characterization a lot. Thackeray's Vanity Fair is an excellent book, v funny in places (in a Victorian sort of way lol). George Eliot is a bit dour though and seems to enjoy killing off her heroines or making them unspeakably miserable.
I've only read one Dickens, The Old Curiosity Shop, which I didn't think I'd like but I really enjoyed it.
The Picture of Dorian Gray is a v good book.
I read a lot:]
