But you should totally believe what you want to. My friends give me a hard time for believing in astrology, so I get it, in the end I think believing in the odd ball stuff makes life more interesting, you know?

I think it's definitely a possibility that there is such a thing as bigfoot. I mean, some people might think it's a legend or a myth, but think about all the things on the planet that haven't been discovered yet... from exotic fish to insects. There's no reason that a sasquatch couldn't/doesn't exist.

Okanagan Lake, BC, Canada has a monster named Ogopogo like Nessie. I'm on my 2nd stuffy of him (stupid dog ate the 1st one) and I can't wait to visit it for myself but you won't be able to make me go in the water!
... I also see sharks when I'm alone in the pool and clearly shark-free lake near where I live. I have an overactive imagination...

I saw that show too! I love the idea that there could be such a thing as bigfoot. The world is big and there are amazing creatures yet to be discovered.

I dont think you're crazy I agree with Monika and Corvus, we have such a big, beautiful planet full of all sorts of animals many we have yet to discover. I definately think there is a basis to the myth and I can't see why there wouldnt be.

Yeah I agree with Crafty and Corvus too, that's one of the reason's why I think it's real. Add on to the thousands of eye witnesses, the footprints people find, and the old Native American drawings depicting this thing and you can't come up with any other conclusion. Everybody can't be hoaxing.

I definitely believe that it's possible that there's such a thing as Big Foot, there's lots of evidence to prove it's existence. I also believe in the Loch Ness Monster, but I believe that it's not one, but many plesiosaurs (a type of dinosaur that looks exactly like Nessie has been described." I believe that there are dinosaurs that are still alive, especially in the Congo marshes and swaps, where people have gone missing and the natives claim to have seen certain dinosaurs shown to them in pictures.

I am totally open to the idea of it! I believe in a lot of para-normal things, that we just cant emplain. My mom swears up and down that she had an incounter of sorts with a big foot. She didnt actually see it because it was dark in the middle of a forest, but she believes it happened. I my mom is one of the most honest serious people i have ever met!

Also I grew up in rural Idaho, in the same town as Idaho State University, which if you are a bigfoot enthusiast you'll recocognize the name Dr. Jeff Meldrum! He has been teaching at ISU for along time and is best known for his open-minded yet scientific approach to the bigfoot phenomenon. And is pretty much is the go to guy for all things big foot! He has been in tons of documentarys and tv shows talking about the creature and helping to identify possible foot prints and the like.

I love this topic btw I love keeping an open mind and learning and I am glad so many of us feel the same <3

I think Rawr is right with the whole Nessie thing.

Has anyone else seen the SyFy series Destination Truth? It is such a great show! They take local myths/legends of things like big foot, ogopogo and even the plesiosaurs in africa and then collect info and sightings. then they go out and look for evidence that that creature could exist.
They get pretty scientific about it, the disscus things like, if a giant dinosaur is living in this area, where is a body of water that is large enought to live in? Does that place have the amount of food to sustain a large creature? and with big foot, they collect any sort of unidentifiable foot prints, hair, stool, bones that they find and then send them to labs to see what they are.
They also set up camp in what they think is the most likely place for the creature to live, and they set up infrared fences and cameras, and trap cameras, and they go out all night searching for proof! Some times they find really cool stuff!

I completely beleive in the existance of bigfoot and all the other things that people say dont exist. absence of proof is not proof of absence.

I'll be sure to check Destination Truth out. I think I've seen commercials for the show but didn't pay it much attention.

In 2001, scientists discovered a new species of... elephant. That's right. Elephant.

There are three living species of elephant: Asian elephants, African bush elephants (formerly called African elephants), and the previously unknown (as a separate species) African forest elephants.

Basically, scientists had thought all African elephants were the same, and the forest-dwelling ones were just runty. Genetic testing proved otherwise. Not just a separate breed, an entirely different species. Asian elephants are most closely related to extinct mammoths, and there is as big a genetic difference between Asian elephants and their closest mammoth relatives as there is between the two types of African elephant.

There are major physiological differences, too (like the number of toes; forest elephants have more), and while the African bush elephant is the largest living species, the African forest elephant is the smallest.

Furthermore, since 2000, no fewer than 25 species of primate have been discovered. Three primates were discovered in 2010. The most recently discovered primate in the world is the Myanmar snub-nosed monkey, which has a body length of over two feet (not including its enormous tail) and an estimated population of 260-330 individuals.

If science can discover a new species of elephant and 25 primates in the past decade, a deep-forest dwelling ape with a very small population (and which many people swear to have spotted) doesn't strike me as particularly outlandish.
