Being a Woman

yeh there's a difference between being nice to each other and finding a balance then leaving it all to the other one because you can't be arsed.

And opposites it right, both of you have a way to go before you stop growing and changing eventually you do start to like yourself, the environment you're in, the way your heads are at the moment with hormones and the way everyone elses hormones are around you at school all effect the way you think about yourselves, trust us it gets better! But no body is entirely happy with themselves. I had to sort out a lot of 'inner demons' before I could like the way I was physically.

I like this thread =)

One thing that annoys me is that a black person can kinda say "Oh you're being racist" to anything and it's taken seriously, and then turn around and being sexist. I don't see why racism is worse; maybe it's more obvious because people might get beaten up about it, but women have silently taken this abuse forever, basically.

I desperately want to have a child but I've been criticised because I know that if I want to have a child and I'm not with anyone, I'm happy to go to a sperm donor or adopt. It seems strange to me that people still think it's this crazy thing to bring up a child alone, but why is it so wrong that I want one? Why should I wait for someone to help me? (Obviously I'm talking in years time)

I'd say it was harder to be a woman but then again, people are always gonna say that about their own sex. I just hate when guys say things like "Oh yeah, you have to give birth but we have to put up with you being hormonal", as though they're the ones that have to squeeze something the size of a rugby ball out of their body. And they don't have to bleed 3/4 of their adult life.

Those leaflets you get in school about puberty are hilarious 'In some stage of puberty you will start your period. Boys go through puberty too though..their voices break' ooo oooouch their balls drop and their voices go deeper oo noo how much more do I have to cope with.

My boyfriend always jokes and says that its because I ate the apple (as in garden of eden blah) which makes me laugh Happy I don't understand why women were named the original sin, sexuality is not a sin its nature and were these people freaked out by how attracted to women they were? They wouldn't be alive without the help of a woman.

In the Orthodox Jewish Religion women are held above men for many reasons.

1.) We are considered more spiritual, (which is why a lot of their prays and written for men) because we natural act right, (how many girl murders do you hear about compared to guys? Not saying that no women are murders, just saying there are fewer of us)

2.) We aren't the reason for "original sin," Adam was, for not warning her not to eat from that tree. And Eve had a chance to stay in the garden (this part isn't written in The Christian Bible) but she refused and went with Adam from faithfulness to him.

3.) Men would be loose without there wives, while they may be the ones that represent their family, they can't decided any matters without first discussing with his wife. And the a Rabi's wife is the one that decided what to do with couples when their marriages, children, or something comes up with a spiritual problem.

4.) Every man is raised by his mother first, and most treat her with the respect he would give a teacher. And any man who is rude to a woman with no real reason must talk with the Rabi and pay a fee to the young women for insulting her.

aaw that's nice. I just want full equality. It's attitudes that have to change. Both men and women can be as bad as each other.

Apparently the bible was changed by Catholics. Women played a major part in it all especially Mary Magdeline, she is the one woman in the bible now with a second name.

But to anyone who is sexist or racist I just say, how can you really logically and rationally be that way? You can't be sexist when you come from both sexes, you can't be racist when we all feel pain the same way etc etc. Most of the time I think women have a lot of equality but they were saying on loose women how sometimes people still won't employ women incase they have children and one of them said 'well if they asked you you would just lie and say 'no no i don't want children' '. It's still ridiculous that they even ask women!

I took sociology in high school (I got an A Happy) and we had to do surveys so I did one about sexism in the work place. It was the men that thought about their sex coming into it when they applied for jobs.

The thing is, I think the difference between men and women is very important, but I don't believe either is superior to the other, if that makes sense. I don't buy into the whole thing of women becoming butch as a feminist thing - it's just giving in! I think a true feminist should always be extremely feminine and be able to use her womanly ways as a man might use his fists to get his way.

I think a true feminist should be able to be exactly who she wants to be. That's the whole point. It's being given a choice.

yeah and i hate feminists who think theyre better than men....were equal, and we need one another. we both needed each other to be here

ya, without men we would have issues, with out women men would have issues. We're equal, just built for different jobs.

In the metro today it said that the gender pay gap trebles when women reach 30! The difference is 11% at 30 and 20% at 50. I didn't even know that there still was a pay gap I just knew that theres this glass ceiling thing because employers dont want employees running off and having children, I didn't know we weren't allowed to!

If I get an apprenticeship i'll actually be on more than I've ever earned in my life and that's just for being a student vet nurse so whatever! Happy
