Your not the only one with all their friends living to far away Happy
I haven't heard anything from my best friend for a while and others are all busy with they're own christmas and are also to far away to go to.

Just the vacation isn't really a vacation to me anymore because I don't have anyone to go to and do something fun. Offcourse I can make things and go on cut out and keep and do fun things alone... but I just want to use this time to have fun together Happy

guess this isn't helping much

I suppose as we get older the sparkle fades. We have the responsibility as adults to create the magic for the kids and there's only so much energy.
Yesterday was the Solstice and Yule so I gave the kids hugs and told them I love them and tried to hug my oversized fella (with my knackered arms) to tell him the same.
For me it's not about the presents, food and trimmings. It's about having the time to see friends and let them know I care. Normal everyday life catches up with all of us giving us little time for socialising and fun.
Yule Blessings and good wishes to everyone for a great holiday time Happy

Deffo... Sheila hit it right on the head. I went out last night with some of my friends for an xmas meal and it was lovely, we had cocktails and giggled and stuff. And tonight I'm going to meet some other friends at the cinema. I guess it's just enjoying ourselves. For me, the thing that makes christmas is all the board games and stuff...

I suggest you volunteer! It will get you out of the house, you will feel needed, and meet new people. I'm sure lots of places need volunteers this time of year. This will also allow you to see the other side of Christmas. Being able to donate your time is the greatest gift you can give.
I can sympathize with the miles and miles away from friends. Ever since I got married I haven't had any real friends. It's like turning into another person without knowing it.
What do you like to do? Is there something you always wanted to learn or do but never had the time? Take advantage of this respite your life will pick up soon I'm sure!

Also don't forget eggnog! It's only here for a little bit longer!

Aww...bless you Michelle. Maybe you will get some snow ;)

@ Lolly.....so glad you are getting out and having fun with friends. I hope the new year will be a new start for you Happy

I haven't managed to get out and about, only for hospital and doctor visits, so friends have come to visit me.
Those that live too far away or can't come because of the snow I've had long conversations with on the phone or facebook personal messaging.

There's no excuse not to be in touch with loved ones and friends with all the technology we have now.

I got a small tree and spent 3 hours trimming it. Both of my arms are now affected by CRPS so it was a bit painful. It was therapeutic though and looks really pretty in a kitchy kind of way.

Tomorrow it's hospital again. One of my close friends is going for an arthritis appointment that's in the same hospital. We've agreed to meet up at the hospital cafe for coffee and chat.....see you can even fit people into a routine....Lol

There was a large tin of chocolates on the table near my door....I think people have had most of them away when they are coming and going.....Lol
