nasty burn :(

Im due in 6 days with my 2nd kid. I was making pasta a couple nights ago. My hand slipped and I accidently poured a whole pot of boiling water on my belly. Now I have a huge red mark with big blisters.
I really hope it dosen't scar, I got enough strech marks as it is. And since I will be heading to the hospital some time in the next week or so, I am dreading the embarasment of having to explain this big red mark to everyone.

Do any of you have an embarassing story to tell?

Ooo..Kitty that sounds so painful. Get it checked out so it doesn't become infected...especially if the blisters burst as it will compromise the skin's protective layer. If the blisters break put some cling film (food film) over it and tape all the way round the edges to make sure the air doesn't get in. It stops chance of infection and reduces the pain. You can put a pad over this too for comfort if it gets bad. Hope it heals soon.

My embarrasing story.....I had to have a MRI scan on my shoulder. As it was at a private hospital I thought it would be within the hospital unit. Unfortunately it was a mobile unit with no changing facility and it was parked in the car park.

I climbed the steps to be greeted by 2 male radiologists. I had to remove my bra through my sleeve while trying to maintain some kind of decency with a messed up shoulder....it must have looked funny.

Turns out one of the guys also goes to Whitby goth festival .....guess who I met while in my finery at Whitby this year.....small world. I had to laugh though ;D

I am NOT a cook.

When my boyfriend and I first moved in together several years ago I decided to make him breakfast (he likes eggs over medium) and I had seen him do it several times but never really paid attention.

I knew he used oil when making his eggs so I put oil in a skillet (keep in mind this was like a 20-21 year old me) and I waited and I waited and I waited. And my boyfriend comes into the kitchen and asked me what I was doing and my simple response was "waiting for it to evaperate" !!!

In my defense- how gross is it to fry your eggs in oil? Eww!

I've gotten some burns lately too. lol
I recently broke my left wrist & have to wear a cast (im on my 3rd one so far!), but now i have to do everything with 1 hand. I've been so worried with my cast, that i've managed to burn my right (good) hand 3 different times. On a hot pan, side of skillet, and our wood-burning stove heater. The last one burnt the whole top of my hand, cuz i bumped it against the scalding-hot door. Its so awful & frustrating isnt it? >.<
But now no one in my family will let me touch anything hot. lol

Luckily mine werent as bad as yours. I just put aloe-vera on it the first day or 2, then neosporin everyday since so it wont scar. Theyre all still there tho. Its so frustrating having a cast! And now my other hand looks pretty ugly too. lol

Good luck with the burn & your new baby! Happy
