Bra Sizing Is Never Right

I was last fitted for a bra a year ago and they fitted me for a 32DD. I get that, I fit into that. Here's the thing- if you follow bra fitting advice- I'm a 32B, but there aint no way no how you can fit my boobs into a B cup and those who have tried have realized how utterly stupid they are for doing it. So here is my problem, I have spillage... again and I have no clue what to do. I'm so tired of having someone try to fit me into a B cup that it makes me sick thinking about it and where on earth do I find a a 32 DDD or 32 F to try on in freaking Nebraska?

i buy mine online and return them if they don't fit- it takes less time then me going to every store around here and coming home empty handed and frustrated!
one time i had a gal measure me and i tried on the bras in that size. golly they were so big- no support at all. i handed her the bras and left the store (after i got dressed of course!)
you might want to try a plus size store like lane bryant. they have lots of different sizes there. i also have good luck with jcpenny (at least on line!)
it's very frustrating for sure!

I have the same problem.. the best bra I ever got was a size G from a maternity store.. it sounds huge but it looked normal and was so comfortable. It's hard to find large bras here that don't look like something your granny would wear. And seems like when I do find something half decent, it dosen't fit right.

My advice, when you do find one that fits perfect.. buy a few of them Happy

I hate bra shopping. My size is never there, the bras are never pretty in my size, and the prices are outrageous. As far as I know I'm a 40DDD. I haven't bought a new bra since I was pregnant with my daughter 3 years ago.

Wow you ladies have tremendous booty, you lucky things! I'm only a 36D (34C according to the shops but a C makes me overspill and the 34 part leaves me with unattractive rolls) but there are so few really nice bras that don't cost the earth round here it's sad.

I totally understand you guys. I'm a small band number but a big bust letter and trying to find something decent 'looking' is crazy!

I kind of give up going to get fitted because I don't have any decent 'fitters' around. I found one bra I liked and bought two but I'm still having to wiggle them in. I'll go to a decent place... One day. *dreams*

It's that sad but having the perfect fitting bra would make all your clothes look good on you and boost your confidence.

Like Bryony said, it's costing FROM at least £28 for a decent bra over here Happy

By best advice for you Pink Weeds is that if you have the time then just try loads of different sizes on. Are you getting spillage at the top or the bottom of the bra? If it's the top go up a letter or two... Happy

Gosh you voluptuous ladies are lucky!! Even you Bryony, I don't have too much of a problem with the back size, but with the cup size. Shops assume that the bigger the back size you are the bigger your cup size is. But then again I have problems with traditional cup sizes anyway, My boobs are too big for a B cup they kinda overspill, but a C cup is too big, I can't entirely fill it. I have to get a C cup, I'd rather have room left over then trying to squeeze myself into a bra that's too small...

Im the same Lolly.bot
I can rarely find my size, and when I do, a D is a little too big, but a C is waaay to small. But, It varies from different bras, because one D will be huge.. and another I'll spill out of.. My friend is 10D (32D?) and they dont sell them here.. pretty much anything D or above is impossible to find in Australia. Im only 15.. so Im still growing.. which means they're gonna get bigger Happy

I wouldn't say lucky! Bigger isn't better. My back hurts all the time because of the size of my breasts. And during the summer the undersides of my boobs get so sore from heat rashes.

OMG, I have similar problems! Victorias Secret says I'm a 32 C, but guess what? There is NO way I'm a C. Also, if I do the measurement thing, I'm a 32 B, but overall, a 32 is way too small, and a 34 is often way too loose! To add insult to injury, I fit into different sizes for different VS collections. I mean, I can kind of (begrudgingly) understand different shops having size differentiation, but different COLLECTIONS within the same shop? Outrageous.

I'm terrified to go bra shopping over here in Israel. I'll probably just order something I already know that fits from the USA. (I just got birthday money, hooray!!)

Abbyka--seriously, if my boobs were much bigger than they are now (as in, probably if I were a D), I would get a breast reduction. I was a ballerina for 15 years, and now that I have what is generally regarded as a B, they are HUGE to me!! I don't get the attraction--they're just lumps of fat that feed babies, and they get in the way. (I'm serious; I'll pull mine out of the way with my hands sometimes. xD)

I remember wanting big boobs when I was a little girl but I was super skinny. When I went into 6th grade I went into treatment for my eating disorder and I started to develop fast. I was the first girl in my class out of a training bra and I used to get horrible teasing from the other girls in my school, asking if I stuffed my bra and what not. Now I'm around a DD and my back hurts constantly! It hurts in the morning when I get up, if I'm standing for more than a few minutes or if I'm sitting in a chair without back support. My boyfriend and I have had some serious talks about breast reduction or other methods of trying to reduce the size. I've heard women who work out or weight lift can go down in size- but I'm really very small around wise and its just the freaking boobs that are big.

I used to love my large chest but it's been turning into a curse rather than a blessing. I'm going on 25 and I still get growing pains! How messed up is that?

nope bigger isn't always better..atleast if your smaller, there are things you can get to enhance what you got..only option for us bigger ladies is surgery Happy
Id love to take up jogging but it is just too painfull.. even with 2 bras on! LOL!

Exercising won't do much. Push ups and pulls up might strengthen the muscles in the chest so your boobs don't sag much, but that's about it. Losing weight seems to be my only option. My boobs shrink as I lose weight and, lets face it, I am a heavy girl. It's just trying to get the gumption and courage to exercise that's the problem. I'm in so much pain all the time that I can't do more than 5 minutes of cleaning at a time!

Holy moley...I feel for you! I never got a training bra, my first one was an A cup (In the 5th grade) I've always been heavy chested. It sucks cause they don't make pretty bras in our sizes! Unless you go to a high priced boutique and pay 60 to 80 bucks on one! And when you're big chested, it doesn't matter WHAT you wear, you always look like you're spilling out or being slutty. It's so hard to dress! Oh, and every bra I've ever owned had straps that were too long. I have to use one of these to keep my boobs up!

(it really works!)

Now my measurements say I'm a 32F. Which is INSANE!

Plus, I'm nursing...so add insult to injury with big ole floppy milky boobs! *Sigh

In high school I wore a 38C...I refused to go up a size. I always had "boob falling out of the bottom" or "quad boob" problems. My mom took me to Victoria Secret, where I was measured. I almost had a heart attack when they told me I had to wear a 32DD. I don't know why, but for some reason that number/letter combo was sooo embarrassing!
