If you didn't feel confident to work with cash and packing on your own it sounds to me like they hadn't got a good training program in place.
Most places have someone to mentor new starters to help with customer service queries etc. They were probably trying to do things on the cheap.
I'm sorry you have gone through a bad experience. Think of it this way.....would you want to continue to work there if you had seen them treat a new starter the way they treated you?

where did you work at?!?
And in any case my aunt is a lawyer and handles this kind of cases often and having been to her for adivce on similur issue im sorry as aulful as that is there really is little to be done, you CAN howeverm sue the store if you truly believe you were let go on false terms or wrong terms. but like all lawsuits if the company you work at is big enough little people get stepped on. exmaple , mcdonals. I will prolly get fired from my job there ive been there 2 years and i recently broke my foot i was working with crutches but my doc told me to stay off it for 3 weeks and wrote a nice note to my boss telling so. they will prolly fire me since my orginal store owner JUST sold the store 3 weeks ago and the last 2 years of my working there means nothing now. and they can do that. I feel your pain and send u hugs . like i said if you think its worth it sue. if not then maybe the angels have interveined and this is just part of a plan to get you a better job.?

Im so sorry to hear that.I had that problem once. They said I wasn't fast enough at a hardware store. It was a very busy store, and I got nervous because you had to look up each contractor and put it on his bill and know all the codes to what you were selling by looking it up in book..It was very hard to keep up with all of it.I got fired in my 3rd week.I guess the did give me plenty of time. But I was glad to go back to waitress after that.
So sorry , hope you find another one better one soon.

Wow they didn't even give you a chance. I got hired at a Wendy's years ago at the same time as my best friend. I picked it up rather quickly but she still didn't get it even after a month. They never fired her, she was still working there even after I quit and we stopped talking to each other(not because of the job, because she's a back stabbing you know what!!). When I quit they did try to persuade me otherwise with a pay raise. But I hate working with food so I declined. With the friend everyone kept asking me if she was mentally handicapped or something. LOL

Knowing that they never fired her for being slow at a FAST FOOD place, I can't comprehend why you were fired for it. It's ridiculous.

I feel your pain about not being trained. When i started my job, they told me that I have a period of three months (which i want to call a probational period, but i think thats wrong.) and during that time they could fire me without any reason.

That is possibly what happened, luckily for me, I didn't get fired but also wasn't trained to the full potential. I'm consistently being asked to do things that I have no idea what to do, and when I ask for help my supervisor gets very irriated.
