I agree with Jonesy and Knittin Kitten. When we start attacking her, especially after she admitted she made a mistake, we look like a bunch of bitches. Looks like we all got a bit pissy. I have to admit that what I said was TOTALLY out of character. I lay awake for hours after posting (both) my posts. I honestly have to admit that I really did feel bad. I am truly sorry. From the bottom of my heart sorry...and not just because of what Jonsey said. I too am a Christian and as such, my beliefs are that you show your faith by "leading by example". By loving everyone and tolerating different beliefs. (which I was trying to get you to understand by that comment) But what I succeed in doing instead was becoming the person I was telling you not to be. WITH SO MANY over 25000 projects there is way more than felt here try sewing or cooking i really didnt like felt when i first came here but we learn so much from each other that its really kind of cool i use felt alot more now for many different things

lol. i found this thread quite entertaining :] so i just had to do the math, i used the search option, and did felt, it brought up 148 pages that together had 2,646 projects that used felt, whether it was entirely or just a little bit, which is barely 10% of our projects.....this thread is just silly :]

It might not be rocket science, but the proof is in the product honey! (note to all...no hating, just discussion...have nuff respect for anyone who admits their mistakes).

If it works why complicate it?

To use an analogy... I can cook a 3 course Xmas dinner - but I wouldn't shout down omellette recipes because though it's waaaay simpler, for times when you have little in the cupboard there are few more delicious things.

Likewise, it might not take NVQ level 5 (USA folk, Level 5 is about as high as you can get in vocational qualifications in the UK...almost like a degree in practical stuff) in fabric technology to make a felt cover...err felt is easy to match, simple to sew and very padded an non-scratch. From a craft perspective, taking out 'one upmanship' it works.

I'm with chelsearaye and Bryony, it's a silly thread so I'm still cracking up!!!! And it's not because of the crafts that are made from felt, but the reason it was started, yeah she apologized, blah, blah, blah but this got everybody worked up into a tizzy about felt of all things. HILARIOUS!!!!!

It's not her dislike of the stuff that got everybody upset, it's the way she expressed it. You didn't see the title of the thread before she changed it and she pretty much insulted those who use it to not having any talent, so it wasn't just a rant. But God forbid I forget the fact that she apologized, which is supposed to make it all better.

I don't care for felt....only in that I don't like the way it feels haha
