TV License

I don't even watch TV on my PC. I think I just reached saturation point at the Christmas time before last cos there was so many reality shows and repeats on. I don't mind the odd repeats (especially Morse Happy) but Friends seemed to be on a loop and I just had enough. I don't miss it, which is odd cos I thought I would. I do wonder where the tv license goes tho - its not Jonathan Ross' back pocket anymore as he's quit so who knows!

I had something similar happen to me. They would not believe that I did not have a tv or watched tv on my pc at Uni I got sent an amazing amount of threats but nobody ever did come to my house. If they had done I would of been glad to let the fools in. It is a ridiculous system!

I feel for you Arty KitKat! Just keep maintaining your rights. Don't let them win! Happy

You CAN watch TV on your computer, just not live. So iPlayer and 4OD are fine, just not live streaming, which I don't even know how to do!

I bought a TV license for uni but then got there and found out I can't actually use it - we don't have anywhere to plug in the aerial cord, and the signal's too crap to use a wireless one. So I just use it for DVDs and XBox and that. £150 down the drain though, it's shit. And my housemates all get letters through, saying they're gonna have an inspection. They're blatantly not going to - imagine having to check that everyone in a university wasn't using their TV? Would take forever! And I've told them we're not legally obliged to let them in. And even if we did, they can see we're not using it anyway! Ridiculous.

@knitting' kitten- yeah thats true I forgot it's illeegal to watch streamed not stuff that's already aired. That's the thing about University I think they send everyone threatening letters but don't ever follow it up, sort of like a warning that they hope people will listen to. I lived in a halls of residence of over 500 people imagine checking all those bedrooms!

What amuses me further is the fact you can still buy a black and white license for your tv. Who honestly has a b+w tv these days!? I considered buying one rather than a colour license but I was scared they'd come and check and I probably couldn't maintain my flatscreen was deffo black and white! hehe
