I'm like you Kirsten. I get the optical migranes mostly. I get a fantastic curve of shining light that sits just in the middle of my field of vision. Not good for driving, reading or computer work. Sometimes it develops into nausea. I find a dark quiet room helps if I feel sick. Usually I ride it out with a bit of fresh air and taking my glasses off. They have been worse recently following a neck/shoulder injury as my upper spine was affected too. I find a cup of tea and a piece of toast helps me.
From reading this thread it just shows how different we all suffer and deal with migraines. Maybe we should send the link to a research company so they can use the info to develop some remedies Happy

Something that works really well for migraines is peppermint oil. Only about 2% of the oils you can buy are pure oil, but those kinds are the best, and you can also ingest them. Inhaling the scent from the oil really helps your headache, as does rubbing it on wherever your migraine pain is. Putting about 4 drops of peppermint oil in a liter of water helps distill the flavor, and it really helps if you drink it when you can - I used to have migraines all the time, and I haven't had one since I started this. I hope this helps! Happy
