Figetting and twitching so much I can't sleep

Kiddo I think you are right. There is something oddly soothing about all the picking and scratching. I cut my fingers sometimes and I get the oddest sense of satisfaction like all is well in the world because I've made my fingers bleed. Its very odd but it does come from stress. The brain is a very strange organ :/

I agree with you kiddo, the scrathing is something I do and in some way it relieves anxiety, I dont know why but it does. Arty I am also depressed and have restless leg syndrome. My doctor advised Benedryl when I can not sleep instead of adding another RX to all my pills. Usually the meds for the leg syndrome knocks me out but makes me twitch the uper part of my body that wakes me up instead of my legs. I agree with all that the stress you have makes it worse and yoga or meditative breathing may help symptoms. Yet the root cause you still need to find. I hope you find the some relief. Remember your not alone.

I used to twitch and fidget a lot when i was anxious, upset too. My hands would shake also.
Its gotten lots better once i lowered my anxiety and tried (every which way possible) to lower my stress. Thats why i craft a lot, it relieves tension and keeps my mind focused on other things.
I still shake sometimes, but only when im REALLY bad emotionally. Luckily its lessened over time.

I've been meaning to try yoga too. I did it once years ago, and it was really fun.
