The Most Annoying Things to you that nobody ever takes into consideration...?

For me, it's who I am. And the fact that everybody thinks they know who I am just because of my appearance. "Oh, she has brown skin, dark hair, and dark eyes! Her last name is Malik! She must be a TERRORIST!" Uh, no. I'm American. I was born in Macon, Georgia. My mum's from Ohio, and my dad's from England. "Oh look! That girl's wearing orange tennis shoes and a pair of black jeans! She's also got NATURALLY black hair! She must be a scene kid!" Noooo. I'm just wearing clothes that I LIKE to wear. Goshhh. I really, really hate pretentious ignorant jerks. Especially if they're stubborn. There seems to be a lot of them where I live.

How I hate that. Here where I live, just because I have piercings, dreads and have my own style in dressing people think that Im not normal and a drug addict.I hate it when I go in to the super market with my husband(he has dreads, piercings too) people cant stop staring at us.Iw got used to it,but its still annoying.Plus we live in a really small town, where everyone knows everybody, and people have no better thing to do then to talk stupid gossip. So we just learned how to not notice the staring and how to laugh about the gossip that we hear about us.If you learn how to ignore them it can be actually fun.We had really great laughs about the things that they said about us.Maybe you should try the same thing.

Thanks! people can be stupid.Temerin is a small town, piercings and dreads-and everything thats not "normal" makes people talk. And there are really few people here who are in to stuff like us,so we are kind of outsiders. They think that if your not dressed like everyone else(if you have a personality) you must be doing some illegal stuff,or your crazy...

The world is a crazy place.....There are always people willing to pass judgement and put labels on people. I am an Australian Aborigine so I see my fair share of this type of behaviour. My husband is African who comes from a Muslim family, so he see's it as well....Oh and my sons name is Malik!!! It's a beautiful name...

I really wish there was a way to stamp out this way of thinking, unfortunately that will never happen. The only thing we can do is to educate the people around us and bring our children up to be understanding of others....

Thanks guys! I wish other people I knew would come around...It's so frustrating...

Malik is a beautiful name, I think we should celebrate who we are, white people do tend to think they are the best and such, but they are a minority, maybe they are rude because they are scared of what they don't know. I was raised up as white, but I am mixed. Native American/French/English, my sister and father look more native then me, but my sister has a really bad attitude towards people of differ cultures.

Me I have dated all over, africans, muslims, asians, europeans...I don't care about what people think or say. You can't help who you are, I embrace my multicultural hertiage.

and you know what I hate, people who say rude things about gays and transgengereds

I'm gonna turn this round a little.I went to a crafty art event locally the other day and I just felt too "normal" I have no piercing's have stopped dying my hair and am embracing the grey as respect for myself and the fishes.I felt that I couldn't join this group as I didn't have a facial piercing or body art.I have too say this actually surprised me !
Moving continents has taught me to expand my mind set.Being a white middle aged English speaking still doesn't mean I understand the pacific Northwest customs and acceptable language usages !

i sooo agree about the moreyou travel the more open you becomebeacause you've been exposed tomany different types of wonderful people.
Me, im a pakistani muslim.
and im very happy with how i am. People? No.
so i'm darker that means im "lower"
i hate beign stared at and asked questions. but at the same time if i behave nicley then that will show them that just beacause you're not exactly a clone copy of them, you actually are decent.
URGGHH. It doesnt help that some pakistani's look upto people with lighter skins.
Thereare still brutes out there that reject perfectly beutiful girls in marriage beacsue they are simple not light enough.
I've seen BEE-YOU-TEE-FULL african people with perfect chocolate skin and i was jelous!
I've seen people with amazzingg milky complexions and they were great too.
My point? everyones great in their own way, and they enhance our lives.
so if they keep assuming things aboutyou.
just laugh it off love.
you know that you're cool enough to catch their attention and strut yerr stufff ;)

Happy hear hear.

do you wear a hijab? I always found them to be beautiful, christoans look down on it, but little did they know that women in Christan countries had to be covered head to toe (head scarves till the late 1500's) and we didn't become more sexualy liberated till the 1920's. Flappers, bobbed hair and voting.

Are we really that different? no. Most religions have the same principles, its how you view and recieve the information given.

I agree with all of this and it's off-topic, but to me the most annoying thing that nobody ever takes into consideration is about me...does that make sense? It's something I don't like about myself. I don't like how I wear my heart on my sleeve...it's annoying.
