Who cringes at the sound of their own voice?

I do, I'm making a new podcast and it's bugging me.
The neighbours are being noisy and buzzed my flat while I was mid-sentence and it's busy bus hour too.

Yes, I do. Fortunately I don't hear it too often, other than in my head lol
I hate neighbours, I want to get rid of mine, please! How rude of them to buzz you! What is busy bus hour?

I hate hearing mine recorded or echoed back. Working in a call center, I get echo on calls all the time - yuck.

On the other hand, I love hearing myself talk. I hope that's more what I sound like to other people

I did yesterday when I was leaving a voicemail message and could hear myself echoed - very off putting! I sounded about ten years old... ewww.

Hehe, are we suppose to sound different when recorded, or do we actually not sound like the way we hear ourselves?

I have very very very rude neighbours, their buzzer doesn't work and they don't have enough keys so they constantly buzz my flat at all hours of the night. I don't let them in though, I stay snuggled up in my warm bed and laugh at them for being outside in the cold.

I think we sound different to how we hear it in our heads... lol

Nice one Cat! My neighbour is a rude ****** I think he works shifts and he plays his music all night long grr and you can hear everything from up there as it's a real old house, you can even hear him make rude noises!!

Eww, you should start recording him and make him a mix tape of his rude sounds and his favourite songs.

His taste in music is very poor lol I have recorded them before for a friend, but all you could hear was footsteps and creaky floorboards

Aww that's a shame. Yeah my neighbour plays awful thumping music, even though he's about 50. You can even hear him snoring loudly. He buzzed right in the middle of my podcast, so now I have evidence for the landlord hehehe.

Yeh you can hear them snoring too! I hate living in apartments!!!
Nice one that you have evidence though ;)

I live in quite an old building, so you can't usually hear the neighbours much, it's just this new bunch who are a nightmare. The landlord has given them several formal warnings, so he's looking at legal action - fingers crossed they'll be gone soon. Have you complained about your neighbour at all?

Good luck, hopefully they will get kicked out. No, I haven't complained yet, he is so annoying as he has no routine! lol Except he always comes home with friends at 6- 6:30am every sat and sun morning and starts a party!! He is up there now with what sounded like a dozen people, they had music on, but now they stopped it. I may sound like a stalker, but it's just that I can hear every single thing he does!! He also has a very disgusting and annoying smokers hacking cough, it's so gross. He is only here 2 months, I don't really wanna complain, as I don't think his landlord will give a crap! We'll see how next week goes.

That's not too bad if he's going to be away soon, good luck with it Happy

When I was a teen, we had an upstairs neighbor who was a huge guy; tall and big. "Big John" as we referred to him as, was very considerate, but at night we heard things clearly. Him walking around, him getting up in the night and urinating, when he had a "lady friend" over, and, oddly his printer - one of those old jobs with the holey ribbon - running all night.

Sorry Cat, I meant he is here 2months already, he will be staying longer though Happy

Tina, that is exactly what he is like, he sounds like an elephant and his loo is right above my kitchen! so you can imagine what that is like!! It's so embarassing when you hear them with their "lady friends" lol Before he came we had a young couple with 2 kids, that was the worst ever! The kid would have tantrums and stamp it's feet all the time or shake it's crib which would bang against the big heater! So much noise!!!!
