I think their are two different "meanings" for each styrotype. Like, Punk - is a rebel in forms, Punk is always the wanna-bes that by the crap that is "punk clothing." same with gothic, emo, prep even. (I like some prep clothes. but I am not a prep.)

if you have to SAY what label you are, like emo punk prep etc. then you probably aren't.

I know someone who's like "Omg I'm so metallllll!" and she's like "I only like guys with long hair who listen to metal" and all of this rubbish, but then quite a lot of the time she comes in dressed like a chav, the stereotype she claims she hates the most.

I like the buddy holiday glasses. It pisses me off that they're popular now.

I hate that. When you like something for the longest time, everyone knows it, but the mintue its poplar, people who only like it cause its poplaur, and claim that they have their own style say your just following trends. man i had that happen alot in school.

AGREED!! Ugh I hate that, it happens to me ALL the time. That happened to me with vampires and it PISSES me off. But I won't go into that now.

But I hate it when that happens, cuz it happens to me a lot and then I don't feel very original. I want to be my own person with my own style but I feel like I can't because everyone will start following that trend. I 'm losing the feeling of feeling unique and its killing me. :

It happens to all of us. Because trends just recycle themselves over and over. Hard to be "original" when everything has already been done. Just stick to what you like, and whatever to the rest of the sheep....

Yeah, I know what you mean about trends recycling themselves. I was looking at some photos of my mums from when she was a teenager (so in the 70's), and in one of them she was wearing this really cool pair of electric blue shoes with a yellow stripe/lightning bolt (couldn't quite tell what it was from the angle she was standing at) on them and I was like "Wow, I want a pair, they're really cool". And we were watching Fawlty Towers the other day too, and lot of the things they wear on there are things that are in fashion now. (for anyone that hasn't seen Fawlty Towers, its a comedy show from the 70's about a man called Basil and his wife Sybil who run a hotel, and the show's about all the funny things that go on. It's so funny, go and watch it on youtube or something!)
