What's making you mad?

That's really upset me, I asked them to remove it and they said this -
"Sorry if it upset you. She already provided the link and it's available publically."

I just feel it really devalues my work because you don't get the full effect of the instructions without the photos. It's not my fault that someone else posted the link to my tutorial (which I don't mind) but that doesn't give them permission to copy and paste it without asking me.

This kind of thing happens a lot - some magazine republished a bunch of my tutorials, without even telling me, and they had rewritten some of the steps and they didn't even make sense. It really hurts when you take time to make tutorials and people don't respect they work you've put in.

Has this kind of thing happened to anyone else?

Cat that's so bad Happy It's never happened to me, but then again, the few things I have put up are nothing compared to the body of projects you have on here.
I seriously expected more from craftster, or am I just a naiive noob?

Yeah, it's a really strange scenario - the person who posted it is second-in-command at craftster... I reckoned one of the first rules of anything is not to copy and paste content without permission... All sorted now though, i think!

I didn't expect it either, it does say in their T&C not to publish anyone else's content without permission, so you'd expect their own people to follow this very strictly. They finally removed it after I pointed out that they were breaking copyright, it's a shame it was so difficult though.

The craft world should be all about good and niceness. It really upsets me when it's not Happy

It should be about that, but sometimes people think they are above reproach because they have a little power and it goes to their heads. I'm happy that you finally got it sorted, though. `kinda leaves a bad taste in your mouth though Happy

I'm sorry honey =( but think of it this way: your ideas are just SO fantastic that people will do anything to get them! You should lock them in a safe and swallow the key

I don't understand how people who run websites can still be so ignorant about copyright law. I'm all for sharing content, but generally when the creator gives permission.

Well I was mad but now I'm not but I'll share anyway.
I got kicked out of my mum's house so now I'm spending the week at my dad's house because she says I wasn't helping her around the house enough but she treats me like a flatmate as if I should do half the work and even when I try hard it seems as if I do wrong. Oh well now I can actually enjoy my school holidays for a week! Finally! I think a week apart will do us both good though. She recently got a book called dealing with adolescents so if she starts reading that hopefully we might be able to get along a bit more. I think I just need to come to a compromise with her. Hmmm......

ON A SATURDAY!!!!!? isn't that illegal...don't worry about SATS, complete waste of your brain...but then you get to GCSEs and they go 'omg your exams your exams' but by then your so used to exams and have been so stressed by coursework the exams seem like a walk in the park, well unless it's a maths one haha, we'd do the exams and then actually go to the park lol.

I'm just confused I don't know what I want to do with my life and I have to decide what uni to go to soon and I don't even know if I still wanna do art and I've been really upset about it because it's built up over 3 weeks and I have post holiday blues.

ok double post but I'm leaning towards the decision of leaving my foundation course working for a year and either finding an apprentiship as a vetinary nurse or doing a course on animal welfare. I don't want to go to uni now at all. It just depends on money.

Hey Miquette:
Hang in there with the stopping smoking. I smoked for almost 20 years and stopped March 27, 2007. I am almost to my 1 year anniversary. I never could imagine my life, in the past, without a cigarette and now I can't imagine myself with one. I tried several times and with several methods over the years. What finally did it was cold turkey and no bars or drinking. I am sending you positive vibes! If you need someone to vent to, let me know. Candace
