I don't know if you guys know..but Obama seems to have more worldly cares than McCain...he actually talks about the genocide going on...and all sorts of things...he has a sense of...charisma and charm to him that McCain doesn't have...and well Palin...she just needs to figure out what the hell she is doing.

Well I have actually payed attention to the VP's running with them [that sounds weird.... there are kind of two ways to read that and one is REALLY mean, and its the OTHER way, but I just don't know else to say it, lol. I promis I'm not being mean Happy] and I think a fair amount of them have been not stupid.

And yes, palin is getting looked at a lot harder than most other vp's because she is a woman, but also for SO MANY other reasons.

Obama's running mate, Biden, though I don't agree with many of his views, IS AMAZING with foreign policy. Like... He is the Bill Gates of Foreign Policy and I LOVE the fact that Obama chose him, because apart from our economic situation, our foreign affairs are up there on the list of top priorieties [not only because the friggin war has some part IN our economic situation].

While PALIN on the other hand, tells us she has foriegn policy experience because she lives in alaska and is SO CLOSE TO RUSSIA. Seroiusly? I cannot believe she said that and was COMPLETELY SERIOUS! Like... honestly? I've been to New Orleans? Does that mean I have experience in mississippi because I was so close?

She is just NOT good with politics. Like, she WANTS to teach creationism in SCIENCE CLASS!!! I'm all for believing in god if thats what you believe, if you are a creationist, that is all fine and dandy with me. Faith is an amazing thing and it can help the world, BUT SERIOUSLY? Thats like teaching the elements of literature in P.E. Class.

If you want to learn about creationism, there are actually extra classes you can take for that, do NOT try and pass it off as science, because its not. We have no proof or any semblance of proof for creationism, and while most intelligent people [Including Richard Dawkins and Bill Maher] will NEVER say that there is DEFINATELY no god, there is still more proof to the contrary [Being evolution, not the exsistance of God], and in science class, we teach what science has lead us to, Which is evolution.

I do not think she is in any way.... mentally handicaped, but she is definatley politically handicaped. She doesn't know when to just shut her mouth, and I think THAT is the real reason everyone is so riled up.

She just says to most IDIOTIC crap!

lol and violinagin, I was actually thinking about Bush when I typed that. I was thinking of adding [this does not apply to George "dubya" Bush, but I thought it messed with my chi Happy lol].

I call him a baby killer because he believes that after the baby is removed from the woman and still alive not to save it to just through it away.... and there has been testing that an abortioned babies um i think its the cord can cure a few things. That's why I'm calling him a baby killer he doesn't care to save lives. I hate abortions I know someone who waited 3 close to 4 months before doing it.... It breaks your heart to think that, that baby so soon had a heart beat and even after being removed from the women and obamo says to just through it away. That's why I see him has a baby killer it crushes me to think about. As for the old guy... He's dying and is just as blah and going to make alot of people homless. So I'm not downing either person I'm just venting since this is a place to chat... So no need to use caps on me

On the baby thing. I had an ultrasound at 2 1/2 months and Gray's heart was beating and he was moving his arms and legs a mile a minute. That's all I have to say about that.

Babies have survived after being born at 24 weeks which is the cut off point here for abortions...but as Dis said allowing abortion is pro-choice not anti life, the most important thing is to stop unwanted pregnancies happening in the first place.

If I was over there I wouldn't vote for McCain/Palin because of what I've heard them say, not because Palin is a woman. We don't hear much about their beleifs here but know some but after what Dis just said about creationism uurghhhh! Doesn't creationism sound like a wonderful thing Happy the actual word, it sounds fun like 'art'...

Last time I voted (second time eeever) I saw my vote as a vote against Labour and not really for the party I voted for, it shouldn't be this way but Labour got the friggin message. They got rid of some tax thing which meant people like us are worse off and so when the local elections came along they were like 'shiiit shouldn't have done that'. But I'd rather have Labour then any other party. We have local elections - when we vote for the local politicians and general elections - when we vote for the government of the whole country. I'm just glad the BNP wasn't on our local election forms, British National Party...or facists as I like to call them.

So basically see your vote as a vote against the worst candidate if you don't like either.

Alright Lilim, I cmopletely understand that. I didn't really think about the venting thing, but I suppose I needed to do the same thing, because so many people have just been so stupid. It wasn't really what you said, it was just that what you said reminded me of all those other stupid people, and they make me angry, lol. Sorry 'bout the caps monster, he gets released from time to time.

I think teaching what started how everything came about is rather stupid for science class since we really have no idea. Whether someone believes in random chance, creationism, FSM, or orbiting tea pots. Just teach what's observable fact. Go over what some people believe, perhaps, so we aren't completely culturally illiterate, and be done with it. (Though I'm thinking lower level high school and 100 level college courses. If it's going to be what you study, I'm all for classes that combine different views and disciplines.)

That's what my science teacher did. Said, "I don't care what you believe, I'm going to teach you what can be proven and you can stick whatever belief you want to on it."

I dunno. I try to watch a good bit of politics and talk shows and listen to different radio programs so I'll not be completely out of the loop when it comes to who to vote for. It's just every single thing I watch or listen to is so, so biased. Both ways.

I definatly believe in orbiting tea pots. I really don't get the logic of teaching R.E. in Science, it's like brainwashing!

There was a programme about how Palin really doesn't know anything and this was said by British people as an observation so it's not that biased really because they weren't saying Obama is better. Perhaps bringing Palin into it was a bit of a gimmick. There's Obama, a black guy, there was Hilary, a white woman and she's wanting to back Obama now right? So maybe McCain's lot thought it would look good?

I don't get how John McCain can call himself pro-life when he's for capital punishment.

I agree with Violinagin D. I don't think any theory of how we came to be here should be taught in science class. It is not science. Science are things that can be tested and observed and proven. However if you are going to teach one (evolution) then you must teach the others as well. BUT they ALL must be taught as theory and NOT fact. I see nothing wrong with teaching theories to stimulate kids mind, get them thinking, and start a discussion, however when you teach only one theory from the time a child is put into school till they graduate, they will take it as fact and that is in fact a form of brainwashing.

as far as the creation thing goes... if you are interested in seeing their point of view for educational reasons so that you can better understand and make an educated decision then you should check out this:

well I think McCain would be a bad choice, but both have it rough. They have to get a nation out of debt.

Who would get it done?

McCain has said himself that he doesn't know much about economics and that's he's more of a military man.

How is that going to help us?

> However if you are going to teach one (evolution) then you must teach the others as well. BUT they ALL must be taught as theory and NOT fact.

In the context of science, though, a "theory" is basically something that is proven beyond too much reasonable doubt. The other ideas for creation (such as intelligent design) are not theories, and should not be taught as such. They are occasionally pseudo-scientific (i.e. pretending to be science, but actually not even close), but that's as close as they get. Giving them any school time whatsoever is absolutely unacceptable.

Evolution can be demonstrated in our world right now, and it's definitely how the animal kingdom came to be the way that it is. This is demonstrable from the evidence - that's why evolution is a scientific theory. It should be taught to children because it is one of the most interesting and eye-opening examples of science that is available, and it can widen children's understandings of biology and science in general.

The other ideas should not be taught because they are complete hogwash which actively damage critical thought.

Edit: Sorry if this comes across as overly-strong; this is an issue that bugs me.

no I agree Zootm.

Well Canada is having an election as well. And in our country we have many parties, Liberal, Consertive, Bloc Quebecouis, NDP, and Green party. I usually vote NDP...which will help Canada keep our education and Healthcare cost lower
