Wedding Craft Central!

Hi everyone, So i'm getting married in about 6 months and am doing a lot of DIY crafty bits myself. It's a barn wedding and the theme is loosely based around books and gin with a colour scheme of mint green, vintage golds and brass . I'll be making all the stationary, decorations, bunting, bouquets, boutonnieres, wedding cake topper etc, it's going well but there is still lots to do!

I figure there must be a ton of crafty brides out there too right!?- Share your experience! What are you making? Are you stuck for ideas? Need advice? Or just want to show what you made? All are welcome- Lets share the wedding craft love!

Aww congratulations @Hayley_S - I'd love to have a crafty barn wedding with lots of fairy lights. I'd also want to make everything - including the dress.

How much have you made so far?

I got married in October! I made quite a bit....but my favorite was my crocheted bouquet and starfish boutineers. My advice is do as much as you can as early as you can, and don't be afraid to ask for help! Once it starts getting close, stress can rise!!! Good luck! I hope you post pics!

I made my friends bouquet for her from buttons and bridesmaids corsages with buttons and scrabble tiles

Wrapping pillar size candles with burlap is an easy, fast and low cost barn look for the table displays.
Using buckets to hold silverware for a buffet is a nice touch but I don't know if you are doing a buffet.
I would also suggest that you have a bridesmaid night of crafting. You will have fun with your Maids and get a lot of crafting done.
God Bless you and your Groom. May you have a strong marriage.

- For parties I usually make tea light, by copying a theme related picture on strips of paper that I wrap around a bay food jar with a candle. It's easy to do and inexpensive and very decorative. See for example :

- For name tags I would write the names on ivy leaves, or on cards decorated with a strand of rosemary or an ear of corn.
- On pinterest you'll also find nice bouquets made with ear of corn wraped with thread of different colors.

Congratulations in advance! My sister had a barn wedding last August and did lots for herself, such as the tables having a slice of wood with candles on top as well as photos of them as a couple. Around some windows they included pompoms (mint greens and light pinks) as well as a massive pompom centerpiece in the middle of their barn. They also made their last name out of wood and decorated it in the colours mint green, light pinks and golds too that stood on a table with the cake and guestbook.
