Hello my fellow crafters, makers and artists!

Hello, I'm Stefanie and I make things compulsively. Most of the time out of recycled elements. I am the author of the book Sweater Surgery. I have recently pulled out my embroidery machine and started doing machine embroidery again along with painting. I just built an easel out of reclaimed wood. I haven't put down the scissors though I still have been cutting up things like cardboard containers to make a mobile with washi tape. I love seeing all the fun still you all make as well. It is so inspiring!

Hey @PlaidCrafter - I love all of your books. I really like machine embroidery too. Standing back and watching the machine do all the work is so mesmerising. Sewing

However, I'm always unsure what to do when the thread breaks, do you have any tips for rescuing a project mid-stitch or, even better, avoiding the thread breaking all together?

Hi Stefani, great easel, I am impressed and after seeing this I want to make mini easels for my students to use in my painting classes!

Hi Stephanie. You sound a lot like me. I also love to make things from recycled stuff, and every time I want to make something new I look around in the house to see if I have most of the equipment already Happy
