In a complete turnabout from my first post in this thread, I made and wore a Belarus (from Axis Powers Hetalia) costume for the London 2010 Expos.

I'm currently working on a Garterbelt (from Panty and Stocking) costume. I have the afro, have started work on the beard, and have the material for the robes and stole.

(i don't pay enough attention to the boards here)

I've been cosplaying seriously for almost 3 years now (its been nearly 5 since I made my first costume)

I'm also quite a large person, so cosplays aren't always easy, but weight-loss is my new years thingy, first time ive ever bothered trying to, so hopefully it'll go well Happy

I have to say, I have a major issue with bought costumes being paraded as someones own.. and the people who egg them on not understanding the difference between buying and making costumes.

If any of you are in the UK and in the east of england or london kinda area, theres a huge cosplay society thing around colchester, we get together a lot for picnics and photoshoots. Contact me if you wanna know more?

Also, does anyone here have a cosplayisland account?

(my user name there is spider)

I'm hoping to cosplay for the first time this year at SakuraCon in Seattle, Washington.

The boyfriend actually said he'd do it with me which has open a whole new level of nerd for me.

The main problem is getting the money together to buy the materials for the costumes.

I love cosplay! I've been Rukia Kuchiki, a Moogle girl, Kairi from KH2, Ren (or Reverie) from Elemntal Gelade, Rena from Higurashi, and Yumi from Chobits. Right now I'm working on Maka from Soul Eater and Freya from Chobits, along with some other costumes for my friends.

It's my dream one day to make some of the elegant, detailed cosplays correctly--something I'm attempting to do for Freya's dress. However, my budget doesn't particularly care for it...

Do you guys have any cosplay that you really, really wanna do in particular?

Oh yeah. I do have a cosplay island profile! http://www.cosplayisland.co.uk/overview/PandoraCaitiff

I'm now working on costumes for the London October Expo - Derpy Hooves (from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) and Terezi Pyrope (from Homestuck)

Pandora, it's awesome that you're going as Derpy Hooves! I've been hooked on watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and entertaining the thought of going as Applejack someday, but I don't even know what I'd make for a costume.

I've seen a handful of Applejack cosplayers (and met one). The general trend is an orange shirt or orangy-coloured check shirt, teamed with jeans and a cowboy hat. You can attatch the cutie mark as a patch if you like.

For Derpy I'm dressing in grey trousers and a shirt I printed the http://derpymail.org/ logo on the back of. I've got a blonde wig, a grey basball cap, and a "Hi My name is" badge.

It sounds great, and the name tag will be a really nice touch too. I'll have to keep in mind about those designs for Applejack--personally I was thinking of some orange overalls and a matching shirt, but those sound nice and easy Happy

I'd love to see pictures when you're finished!
