I would totally wear them! The fabric would have limitations depending on the weather though.
Also I personally think the name is stupid. I would call them heel gloves or something.

I would SO wear these. They're adorable!!! Plus, this would make any pair of shoes so versatile! The minute you splurge on those heels, you could wear them with so many outfits!

that´s so cute!! yeah, except from the name... hmm, i think i would take a piece of old fabric/bed sheet, wrap it around the back of your shoe and cut until you have the shape of the heel and with that your pattern. i think the other heel... covers Happy have some ribbon/strap that goes under your heel in the inside of the shoe, anyway it does look like that... i wanna try that now, what a great excuse for buying high heels! i don´t own shoes with heels like that, but maybe it will look even great with chunky heels!

I just bought a pair of cheap heels from Forever 21 and I'm already thinking of ways to make these for them!
