Baby Black Bird

It's not that much of a baby but still quite young because it's Daddy fed it with some worms! I got quite close to it but because I didn't have a flash on as to not scare it the picture didn't come out so well and I improved the lighting with a photoshop thing. It had markings on it and fluffy feathers and it sat almost perfectly still to stay hidden from preditors obviously and I walked up very slowly towards it.

Here he/she is:

I think this is Daddy, he comes very close!

Haha cheers, he was two metres away! I think it's the same one anyway he's stood directly opposite me before again about 2 metres away and just stared at me and didnt even move when I was giggling and moving the door because i was a bit scared it was gonna turn into a Hitchcock film! I was about 2 metres away from the baby away but it was just too dark for my camera with no flash!

Aww that's sweet Happy

We had a birds nest somewhere near our garden once, and one morning I found a little tiny chick in the graden. It was so small, it had no feathers or anything. I kept looking out for it every day (it was quite exciting, I think I was only about 6 or 7 at the time), and it managed to survive for about a week before I found it dead one morning Happy. I gave it a little chicky funeral and buried it behind the shed haha.

Aww cute. We have a squirrel on our mew and he sneaks past the door and nibbles on things. We saw a fox at the end of the street last night, that was cool.

I'd love to see more squirrels round here, we used to have a few that would run up and down the big tree in the garden next door but when the tree went so did the squirrels Happy

We're too close to the main road for squirrels but we have seen hedgehogs and once the dog sniffed one and she got poked by a spike cuz she yelped! There's always bats flying around in summer too Happy I've realised that I've seen the baby before but thought it was a wren because it was small and quick. It's probably around 4 - 6 weeks old. I just think it's so cool that these birds have managed to raise a baby in our garden they've been here for ages! (if they are the same two that is but no other birds would live in our garden with a pair already there)

I found a dead baby bird in my boyfriends back garden a few weeks ago Happy A friend once found a baby bird on her path and brought it into college to see if anyone knew what to do she just couldn't leave it there because it was a hot day and there were cats around, one of her friends had raised baby birds before so he took it.

deer!? wow, apparently there are deer in the town! Apparently a couple saw 5 near a cemetary! In broad day light.

We have another baby bird in our garden, a collared dove I think. I think their nest is in a tree right near our back door because I've heard flapping from it and there are feathers around it. It's a lot smaller then it's parents.
