Well at the moment im growing strawberries because i cant afford £2.50 everytime i go shopping for 1 punnet. What i was wondering is what other vege or fruit can you grow in a window box?

Hi @MischievousRaven, how about baby tomatoes, spring onions or radishes. I've not grown these in a window box but in small plant pots and they grew OK. Slugs were getting a bit too fond of the radishes though so I put Vaseline around the sides of the pot to keep them away.

@pixiefey have tomatoes growing, will have them coming out of my ears but radishes sound good to try. My strawberries have just started to sprout, might be a while but im hopeful as i usually kill plants oooooops

When I had my balcony garden I grew chives, cut and come again lettuce, and strawberries Happy

I had a really good windowsill herb garden until I got some mint which was filled with greenfly. I'd love to start a new one, without evil mint this time.

Also, I don't know if you've ever heard of this but my Mum has started growing her own spring onions by placing the ends of the stalks in small dishes of water on the windowsill. I'd never heard of it before but they've been growing amazingly!
