What are you itching to make?

Ah, craft itches... When you really want to make something but you're not at your craft station.

What are you itching to make?

Right now, I'm itching to modify a lot of old clothes into summery clothes. I have about 6 sketches made for clothes I want to make by hand and make from other clothes. I want to turn two shirts into half & half shorts, a tank top into a miniskirt and boot warmers, two pairs of pants into pencil skirts... the list goes on.

I'd love to hear what all of you are just dying to make! Keep the excitement up and going!

I really want to start making resin charms! They look so pretty and somewhat easy to make, it's just a matter of buying supplies and molds and everything.

Ally, resin is fun! You just have to be really careful with the kinds of cups you use to mix the resin with the catalyst. My mom and I used to make resin charms together, but the plastic cups we used would get eaten away by the resin if we didn't use it all fast enough, lol.

Syeyon, you should look at duct tape bodyforms! They take a lot of duct tape and stuffing but some people have made them look really good.

I'm itching to make a lot of t-shirts now since I have plans to make a bunch of skirts and shorts, lol.

I'm the same Monika, I really want to be altering and making clothes for summer! I finished off a dress this weekend and have bought all the materials I need to make a summer top. I also have a long skirt that I bought in a charity shop thats 2 sizes too big that I need to alter down.

I was doing some colouring in last night in my mandala colouring book and I had this idea about cutting all the circles out covering, them in stickyback and sticking them on my wall in a cool wall display. So I want to do that now too.

I also had a idea for an embroidery last night that I started sketching- a feather made of different embroidery stitches.

Does anyone ever have so many ideas they don't know which ones to make?

Now that I've got the sewing machine working again I want to start working through my fabric stash. I'd like to make some clothes for myself as I used to make a lot when I was at college but haven't been brave enough since.

Libby, I get that way all the time. I have 9 projects in mind for this week alone, and don't know which I want to do the most.

Kat, I'm going to be doing the same thing, lol. I mostly want to get through as much of my current fabric as possible so I have an excuse to go out and buy more, haha. I know the feeling of not being brave enough to start making your own clothes again. I started to get sick of that feeling and just dove in head first a while ago and realized that I'm never really satisfied with storebought clothes anyway.

I also want to make summer clothes. So many items in mind, it exhausting to think about it. And, I want to cook and bake more. But, I have to do my finals first and then I can relax and craft and cook forever.

Thanks for the tip Monika! I never even thought about the resin ruining the cups. Do you know what would be safe to use? Happy

Silicone should work, Ally. I think you can even make resin-safe molds using silicone putty but it might be hard to find. For mixing though, I would suggest getting one of those silicone ice cube trays or silicone cupcake pans. That way it'll be reusable, but cleaning might be a hassle. I'm not sure which plastics are resin resistant other than the kinds used to make resin molds. If you find out what plastic the molds are made from, you can probably find a good mixing up made from the same material.

Jams!! Now that you mention that, I remembered that I really wanted to make some strawberry jam a while ago. I might have to bug the fiance to get crafty in the kitchen with me!

Handmade papers are always fun. I used to make my own paper frames from window screen, stretcher frames for paintings, and duct tape. I might have to make some this summer as well since it's been years since I have, lol.

I have a bunch of sewing projects I want to get into, particularly a little 60s style cape and skirt set similar to this.
