Having problem with a crochet pattern...

Ok, so the pattern is called a Mildred Lace Pattern and it says that is is Tunisian Crochet and I was wondering if there is a way around using that particular crochet hook. The pattern is light and perfect for the baby blanket I want to make for brand new baby Marley and the upcoming Georgia heat. PLz help!

Do you have a link for the pattern?
Also have you been on Ravelry.com to look for a similar blanket pattern that uses a regular hook? Its an awesome site for just crochet/knitting patterns, and most of them are free.

I am registered on Ravelry.com and the pattern is not there. I found it from a book I own. I attached a photo (I have to use my webcam, srry) I hope it helps.

BTW, the name of he book is called Crochet Stitches Visual Encyclopedia.

what I've been reading on different sites is that you can use a regular hook for small things, like if you were making multiple squares then joining them, or a long scarf. But not for blankets, because of how much longer you need the hook to be. If you want to go ahead and give it a try anyway with a regular hook, here is a good idea for using a regular hook

otherwise I'd suggest just ordering one or finding one at walmart/joanns/etc. They aren't more than a few bucks.

Thanks Pam. I would have tried and failed and then been irritated and scrapped the project.
