yayaya anniversary !

I am so excited, my hubby and I will be going on our sixth year on the first of may! MAY DAY! lol and he asked me what i want for a gift. I told him I want a kitty. He said He will see what he can do! I always wanted a kitty, but my mom was always allergic to cats. We had a cat when i was 6 years old named Garfield and I was so in loved with him. So cute. But when we found out mom was alergic, i was told either the cat goes or mom goes....well I was six years old...so I said mom had to go...lets just say the outcome wasnt pretty lol. But since i am older , have my own family, and home I want my very own cuddle bug. Happy I will keep you guys posted. Just wanted to share my excitement!-Sugar out!

Congrats 6 years well done Happy I have our kitty almost 3 years now and she is the best thing to happen to me, after my partner of course ;) She really brightened up our lives and gave me a reason to be happy. I hope you get a great kitty.

aaaw congrats! My boyfriend said if we get a house we aren't allowed a dog! So we'll get rabbits lol I wish I wasn't allergic to cats, what if you're kids are allergic!!!!? Although they sound young so maybe they will become like immune to it!

aaaaaaaaaaaah I can't wait!

There is a commedian/actor who has ginger her and in her programme she has a sketch about all these people with ginger hair living in like a shelter for them all to escape to and she was on a chat show talking about when she got a cat from a rescue centre and they phoned her saying 'we have a kitten for you but it's only got one leg' and another time 'we have a kitten for you but it's only got one eye' or something and then 'we have a kitten for you...' 'yes..' '...but it's ginger' so she had that one!

congrats Suggie!
note to Queenfairypants- rabbits are hard work, cats and dogs are easier, if u have the time though, go for it!

yeh I know. I have a dog (I'd like to remind everyone that I'm trying to find a veterinary nurse apprenticeship, it's all I talk about now so I know animals!) next door had rabbits but sold them because they were hard work but I loooove bunnies! I think if I have pets when I get my own house (this may be a long while yet) I think i'd get one or two of the same kind but not like a dog and a rabbit. My mum said we aren't allowed anymore pets Happy

omg one more day! we should get that stimulus(sp) tax check in tommorow and If my hubby gets off early, he is going to go to the second chance animal shelter(same place where we rescued our doggie) and find me the a kitty, I told him find me the fattest, cutest kitty there! ha ha more to cuddle up with Happy lol Gee the suspense is so AAAAAAAAAAAAH! I hate waiting! I want my kitty now! I already did a price check on all the supplies for our new addition. But I do need help on what kitty litter to chose. Their so many! Any suggestion guys, I want one that i guess wont make my house smell yucky. And How often to you clean out the litter, someone told me everyday and another told me depends on the kitty and it would be a weekly thing. i need to take a kitty 101 course! lol~sugar out!

Well I find the best litter is one that clumps together when the kitty does a wee, so that you can scoop out just the wee clump and not all the loose litter. We check her litter box 3 times a day, in the morn after the whole night. When we come home from work around 5pm and then before we go to bed. She will usually have gone each time we check. You only need to take out the wee or poop.
Then you can clean out the whole box whenever you like. I think my boyf does it whenever we are at the end of a litter bag. So he will empty out whatever litter is left in the the box and then clean the box out and then pour in new fresh litter.
Obviously you will need to top up litter in the box after you take out the kitties wee Happy

You will find your way once you get your kitty. I hope you don't get many accidents, our kitty Tara was very good and only had two accidents when we got her. It helps if in the first few days you give them a treat after they use the litter box, then they know they are doing something good Happy
Wishing you well Happy

I got my kitty today! she is so beautiful! Her name is Clover. As soon as she comes out of hiding(getting use to her surroundings) I will post a photo of her. Good news! Charlie welcomed her by licking her on the forehead and sat with her for a minute. It was adorable!
