your scars

@Nightmarequeen: Ooo. *grimace* Just the idea of that makes me cringe. I don't know that I could get my spine fused. I have this serious aversion to people being behind me, which actually falls under my fear of being observed, I hate hospitals with a passion, I dislike doctors and am nurse-phobbic. I think i'd end up having a heart attack before they got around to tossing me onto an operating table.
Why did you have it?

@Rawr Rawr: Self-concious?! Scars are like freckles: unique, awesome and people who don't have em wish they did! I would especially be rockin' that ankle!

@SarahHappyude, I had a kid get me with a pencil! It wasn't a cut, though... it was more like half skid/half stab. Don't know how to describe it. The svcar is mostly gone, but there are a couple of little black/grey marks there stll. So weird.

I though I would get a scar from when my turtle bit me, but I didn't.

Omg this thread is turning into "When cute animals attack" hahaha

It reminds me of one time when I was in a pet store and there was this adorable baby poodle for sale. The glass boxes they keep the puppies in has a gap at the bottom to help with air flow, but people usually put their fingers in it and the puppies will lick it or play with it. Anyway, one day I put my finger in there and the little poodle bit me and wouldn't let go. I had to pull my finger back and yank it out of it's mouth and the puppy's razor teeth "shredded" the skin on my finger. It looked so cute but that puppy bit hard! The cuts healed into scratches which stayed red for a couple weeks but it didn't leave a scar.

I have a scar hidden hidden under my hair where something fell on my head and I needed to get staples.
I have a small scar on my left hand right below my first knuckle. i cut myself on glass(my mom has the same one on the other hand)
I have another tiny one that goes through my eyebrow, funny thing my brother has THAT scar as a result of a kid swinging a bat.
I have a small bit of lead in my left hand from trying to pick up a pencil while seated and losing my balance, I used the pencil to catch myself.
I have a chicken poke scar on my stomach.
I also have one that goes across my forearm.
Finally, I have a slice across my upper leg, and one down the front of my shin.

I am lucky all my scars tend to be light, I bruise easy and tend to be clumsy. Not a good combo!

@Rawr Rawr: I hear ya. I've got a long scar down my chest from a surgery when I was 3, and for a long time I absolutely LOATHED it. now I'm a bit more comfortable with it. I realized it's something that I'm always gonna have, and it's something that makes me unique and no one else in the world has the same scar as me. plus, if I didn't have the scar I could be six feet under, so that adds to my grateful attitude Tongue

I've also got a new scar(about 2 months ago) from getting a mole removed. that one I'm definitely not too happy about right now. it's got the purple-y/bright thingy going on, and I just want it to go away!
oh, and 2 marks under the big long one from chest tubes from the same surgery mentioned above.

ha. great animal stories Happy I was trying to feed some ducks when I was little, and a big swan came and tried to drag me into the pond by my hand. I was terrified, but now its just kinda funny Tongue

I have a little round scar on the right side of my nose. It's only visible if you look really closely. It looks like I had a nose ring but I never did. I have no idea how I got the scar but it's been there since grade school.

I agree with you Michelle swans are evil! I actually think that all big birds are! Especially the ostrich... they have mean eyes. hahaha My friend lives in the country and they have a little hobby farm and right beside the barn there's a little pond and they have two geese that are evil as well. If you try to walk up to the pond or get too close to it they'll start honking at you and chasing you while flapping their wings. They also have turkey's that terrify me! The alpha males will try to corner you, it's horrible. Hahaha

wow a lot of us have been bitten by cute animals.we had pet rats when I was little and got bit a few times. My fave scar is on my elbow from when I crashed my bike when I was ten. Its kinda squiggly and it bunches up when I stretch out my arm.I also have lots of little scars on my hands from breaking up dog fights. and scars from chicken pox. I got them when I was eleven and it was awful.

I have a large surgical scar from just below my belly button to my bikini line. It would have ended up a whole lot narrower if I didn't get pregnant 3 months later and stretch it out.

I also have two chicken pox scars on my forehead from when I was six. Oddly enough, they sort of disappeared when I was pregnant, but have come back since my youngest is now 2.5 years old. I like to use these scars as guidelines for my Harry Potter lightning bolt when I go to midnight showings.

blah I hate my scar! hate hate hate
The little ones dont bother me, I used to have a lot of little ones on my arms and legs, because anytime I get a bug bite or anything I am terrible at not scratching it. But I found some really good scar remover lotions.

Anyway the one I hate I got from having my right knee rebuilt in 2002. I tore my ALC and stretched out my tendons, along with a host of other things, while playing soccer. I bigger girl fell on top of me hyperextending my knee. After surgery I have a 6inch scar running down my knee cap, its about .5 inch wide, and looks like old wrinkly skin. Also running down each side of it are about 25 sets of dots where there were staples put in to keep it shut. Then surrounding the kneecap are 4 more scars about the size of a pencils eraser where they put the scope. Finally one last one about 6inchs from the top of the largest scar... same size are the other four medium size ones, but I have no idea why they needed anything all the way up there, lol.

I hate having to show my knees now, and it isnt something you can easily hide. Its large and unflattering, and makes me feel less feminine. That was never a huge problem because I've always lived in cold stated, where I could get away with wearing long skirts when I needed. But now I live in Hawaii and it gets sooo hot! Plus half the activities we get invited to are at the beach, in swim suits. blah. Theres my scar complaint! lol
