what kind of girl is she?
is she in to her music/clothes/gadgets/books etc?
if she likes books and hasn't read the Twilight saga i could recommend that, i wasn't in to the whole vampire thing but then i read twilight and it's amazing!
can't really suggest much more without knowing abit about her

I like the Jodi Picoult books. Picture Perfect is suppose to be a really good one of hers, I haven't got round to reading it yet though.

She wrote My Sister's Keeper so if she was a fan of the film she might like the book? Or just get picture perfect if she doesn't want to read the book after seeing the film (book is better though :p)

I've read both of these books and I couldn't put them down.

what I would love to get from a sibling would be some time. my older sister is away at college, so I'd love for her to come home and make cookies or play some board games with me. you could take your sister out to dinner or something like that. you could do a "coupon" for an afternoon doing whatever she wants to do with you. then she'll get to pick it and you know she'll have a good time.

I don’t know if this will help at all, but I thought I’d put some random ideas out there

We made a coupon for my father-in-law’s birthday. There is an island about 40 minute ferry ride away from the city which he as never been to, we made a voucher saying we would take him there for the day and take him to visit various vineyards (he’s a wine buff) and historical sites. Is there anywhere that you think she would enjoy a day trip to (and that you would also enjoy!)?

One of my friends gets a CD from her brother each year. On it he puts all his favourite tunes from the year that he’s enjoyed listening to – she looks forward to receiving it every year. How about jewellery? Even simple things like ribbon wrapped bangles can make great gifts. One idea that I just read in a magazine was a homemade journal were you write messages on random pages for the person to find at a later time e.g. stories, memories, jokes, photos etc.

did you get her the shopaholic movie?

Crafty fox: My sister has gone to Australia for a year so we did an early xmas with crap presents (as she couldnt take anything with her backpacking) and she got my daughter a colouring book and every now and again she's written something on a random page and it makes me smile when my daughter finds the pages
