Sheila: I know, I have also noticed an increase in this type of behaviour and it's such a shame, we didn't seem to have this problem when I joined here just over a year ago. That messege sounds brilliant!! It's a good idea if someone is looking on our profile's, I hope it will get to someone with a conscience!! If not, at least we have fore-warned them and more right to report them for their behaviour!!

Well done honey <3

This is what I have put on my profile page:

P.S: I'm happy to share any of MY tuorials with you for FREE for personal and non-commercial use. Please personal message me for permission prior to using them for any other purpose. I hope you will respect my intellectual property and the time and effort involved in making these patterns.

I do not include my creations in this as they are MY pieces of artwork so any use of my artwork without my permission will be treated in a serious matter. All of my work is copyrighted so should I see anyone using patterns and tutorials without intended use and permission my creations without permission will not be tolerated and will be reported.

I haven't included creations as my creations are pieces of m personal artwork and unless I give them permission to use it then I don't want to see it duplicated online.

Thanks for that Sheila and I hope you like any ammendments I have made...

I hope Minnie B doesn't mind me posting this, but she suggested this website:

http://www.youthoughtwewouldntnotice.com/

I've taken a look at it, it's a discussion forum where people discuss their experiences of people infringing their copyright.

I've been looking at IPO (since I'm in the UK) and for those in the UK anyone that takes all or a portion of you work has infringed that copyright. You do ave to be the origional owner to claim your ownership to the copyright of you work though. If you create techniques and methods to protect your work online - some which we have discussed - and someone copies you work and removes your protection methods that is illegal. Also to commercialise your work is illegal. Bearing in mind these things have to be done without your prior knowledge and/or consent. You can take these people to court, though you will have to go through mediation techniques first.

Just thought you might like to know.

What methods do you use to keep your work safe online?

Hi Becky. Don't know if you have seen the 'Activity' button on your projects page. It's brilliant as it gives the dates of when you posted the project. Useful if you need proof of date of creation Happy

You're welcome Sheila and that I didn't know either about the "Activity" button, thanks!

I also put specific copyright notices on my photography and art work that I sell in my shop too...
"Copyright year with my name
The sale of this or any other of my prints and files does not transfer copyright or any reproduction rights."
and of course the image is watermarked.
