Real Tree v's Artificial Tree

If you have a tree in your home this season, do you have a real one or an artificial tree?

We always get a real one. My boyfriend HATES artificial ones, I wouldn't be bothered either way. We always get our tree recycled by the council afterwards Happy
Haven't bought one yet though.

My one is just fake, I have a tiny flat and I'll be staying at my parents over Christmas, so it would be a bit unfair to get a real one.

Yeh Sometimes you just can't have a real one. When we were in Slough for xmas, we were only renting a room, so we borrowed his sisters fake one, as she went back to Ireland for xmas. It's the only time in our time together that we have had a fake tree.

Will your parents have a tree, Cat?

Yeah they will, they've always had fake ones though - they complain about the needles falling out.

I think thats most peoples complaint isn't it? Now that we have a kitty, we have to be so careful, she was constantly, trying to drink the water in the base! and pull all the decorations off and eat the branches lol

Hehe, my cat, Noodles keeps climbing up the center of my parents tree and knocking off all of the decorations too.

I'm like you, opp, i could really care less. But Michelle is very passionate about having a real tree, so that's what we get. The only part I don't like is dragging it down four flights from our walk-up apartment after new year's, shedding needles all over the place :-P

For me, the best tree we ever had was our first xmas together -- when we were shacking up in a tiny room in a friend's apartment -- we had a real small, sad looking Charlie Brown tree that we decorated with action figures and junk from the 99-cent store.

We have a fake one. It's just a lot easier and quyicker to set up and it won't grow to big either. That what happened to Kati's tree- it grew too big to fit in the house so they had to chop the top off! lol
The fake trees also look better I think as the branches as perfectly placed. One year I may try a real one though-just to see....

Greg we live right on the street, but as our front door is so titchy we end up scraping I think all of the needles off the damn thing as we exit the house! lol

8ft!! wow I live in a basement flat, so my ceiling is barely 6ft! lol

Our first tree together was a real tree and it was perfect! All the brances were in proportion and it looked like a fake tree it was so perfect! lol

Here in Iceland they sell, 3 different kind of Icelandic trees and one kind of Norwegian.

lol its really funny , my ceiling is 7ft so the trees sorta bent over with a wonky star on the top

haha That sounds like the fake one my family had since I was a kid. It was a really weird tree, the needles were made of strands of tinsel! It was very odd, but it was so big that you had to bend the tip over to fit it into the room lol

I hate fake trees! I'm a real tree girl through and through. I hate the idea of like having the same tree every year and keeping it in your attic or something.

The smell of piiiiiiiiiine is so yummy too! And going to the farm to pick your favourite one out, it's all fantastic.

I just put mine up and decorated it! Photos later Happy

Okay, here's some photos of our tree. We always do a custom/unusual tree topper. One year it was a Hulk Hand toy (basically a big green fist), last year is was Curious George climbing the Empire State Building.

This year it's "Sunshine Frida." I used a color copy from Ripley's storybook about Frida Kahlo, cut it out and attached it to cardstock, then fastened a strip of thick stock to the back to hold it in place on the tree.
