The more I hear about these the more I'm tempted to get one. I think I've got past the "Yuck, gross" factor now, it's just "Argh what if it leaks or I don't put it in properly so everything comes out instead of going in the cup?" that's putting me off now.

I have the little panic every now and then that it's gonna leak, but for now I'm wearing a towel with it. But because it doesn't leak, I'm only using one towel each month.

Seriously I had no leakage at all. Which was great as most of the days I was sitting on my arse, now if I had have been using a tampon, I would have lasted 2 hours and it would be leaking and uncomfortable.

The only thing I noticed was, when you take it out to empty it, then you put it back in, a little bit of blood may have come down, while you were emptying, so just wipe down there a little and it should be fine!

I can't wait to try it next month, when I am working. I am worried then, with more movement I may have problems, but I really doubt it.

I am getting a bit of leakage this time, normally at night. Chances are I'm just not putting it in properly, so I'll keep at it.

Yeah I had a bit of leakage during one of the first times I used it. Are the suction dots clogged up? I stick a thin needle through the suction holes to clear them during my monthly cleaning sesh.

Suction dots? What are they?

They are tiny holes to aid with the suction, just under the rim of the cup. I didn't even see them, until they were clogged! Indeed I stuck a pin through and they were fine.

i'm not sure if you can get those in the US, but i'll probably just use tampons. but im terrified of the whole process,
i'm afraid that i'm gonna be wearing a skirt at school and ill get it and it will just be leaking out and i wont notice it until everyone is laughing at me

Yeah when you're on your period you've got this whole mentality that everyone else can tell haha and they're all like "omg she is SO on her period..." but at the end of the day, they really can't tell... and even if they could, half the world gets periods so it's not a big deal.

I find using the mooncup helps curb part of the whole "everyone's looking at me..." feeling.

Court, not need to fret. ^^ I got mine when i was sleeping. Though, it freaked me out cause i had NO idea what was going on (i was pretty young and my mom was sure my older sister was going to get it frist) And i get them in Canada, they're called something else (Can't remember right now what they are called here) so i'm guessing the states can get it.

I know when me and my friends first got ours, we would wear cycling shorts or boys tight boxer shorts under our then fashionable mini skirts. That way, we could prevent any possible leakages showing.

I know there is another cup called the keeper, and obviously the diva cup. Which is what I think it's called in the US.

Yeah I tend to avoid wearing skirts when I'm on, and if I do I have to have tights underneath.

I had an AWFUL experience once, it was like my third period so I didn't know yet that I could work out when they would happen. I was walking round with my friend, and everyone was staring at us but I didn't know why. Didn't find out till I got back to hers that I'd come on and I had a huge blood stain all over the back of my creme coloured trousers! It was horrible but I managed to get over it =P
