silk

so i'm going to make a "fairy" shirt out of silk and i was wondering how much it would fray if i made it choppy at the bottom without hemming since it will be all different lengths.i don't want it to fall apart lol. keep in mind i have only sewn clothes once if this is a dumb question

Silk will fray like crazy if not hemmed or finished with a serger.

The best way to finish it is either with a rolled hem

or burn the edges

if you burn the edges def test it out a few times first on scrap fabric

Doing a rolled hem will give you a longer lasting result though it would take a lot of extra patience to get it just right.
