Anyone heard of fabric yoyo's?

My mother found these things called fabric yoyo's about five years ago. Ever since then my mother has been stuck on them. She wants me to make vests and quilts and animals out of these things. In order to make yoyo's though you have to hand sew and when I hand sew my hands get sweaty, fumbly and I'm constantly pricking my fingers. When these things come out they're lumpy and hurried looking no matter how long I take tring to make my stitches even. But I don't like them. She keeps pushing it at me! I really love my mother and I don't want to hurt her feelings by saying "Hey, I know you like these but I really don't." How can I tell her this in a sensible non-hurtful way?

Do you know you can buy a little device to help make these?
I don't have one personally but they're all over the net.
Doesn't help you get out of making them, but it might make life a little easier.
You could even buy it as a gift for your mum then she could make her own!!

Alternatively, you could "Accidentally" introduce her to a variation on the theme!!
Make yourself something using an easier circle motif (these are super-easy, but look really cool :

All you do is cut rough circles of synthetic fabric (felt, organza, poly-satin all work great), singe the edges by rotating them OVER (NOT IN) a candle frame & sew them together, adding a button, beads, sequins etc to the centre.
They are great on brooch pins, headbands, sewn onto tshirts or bags, in fact anywhere you might normally put a yoyo!

Then when she admires it, you can say "oh, i suppose i could use them on that xxxxxx I was gonna make you"
She thinks she's getting what she wants, you get outta making yoyos, and theres no drama. Job done!
