sewing machine problems :(

Help! My machine is playing up - zig-zag stitch is coming out more like a line of Y's
(YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY - just like that!)
I've tried adjusting the tension as per my manual but still YYYYYY's!!

Any ideas?

rethread the bobbin and machine practise on scrap first

i had the same problem , your tension is out of whack make sure your dial is on 5 and try rethreading like debs sai, also there is a a little switch looks like it needs a flat head screwdriver you might try adjusting that too, if not its your machine and you will need to have it fixed.

Thanks for your advice and tips - I left it alone for a couple of days, took it apart and cleaned it, re-threaded and now it seems to be fine!
