How to make your rescue pet feel at home

hi everyone, I just rescued a tabby(cat) named Murphy.

I am trying to make him feel at home. I think I am doing a good job. He had one weepy eye, that the vet told me to wash with a cloth dipped in warm water twice a day.

he seem to be very loving, he likes to sleep on my bed.

and loves belly rubs.

I made him two kitty cat beds, that he loves to use. I give him plenty of clean water and clean his box.

how else can I make him feel at home?

Every time I've rescued an animal, I've gotten them little toys that the animal and I could both play with as a way of engaging the animal with humans and easing them into a better life.

Cats also love chasing laser-pointers, which you can usually find at Walmart or Target for around $3.

Catnip is also a great way to make a cat feel good. One of my cats went nuts over it and would always play with the toy elephant that was stuffed with it, and another of my cats would roll around in loose catnip and then jump on someone so they would pet her.

I made him cat toys, I had some twine and bells. I jingle it for him. and made him balls

he likes what I call mom and murphy time, when I sit on the bed a read a book, he cuddles right in
