Hi!

I love fooling around with shrinky dinks but I found that it can be expensive. I had read somewhere that you can use a piece of #1 plastic (polystyrene). You can find this stuff at the grocery store, salad bars and at the deli. I bought some strawberries with the #1 on it and tried it...it worked perfectly!! The number will be marked on the bottom of the package, inside the recycle arrows. I'v googled this also and people have said they used #6 too. Experiment!

yeah, I heard about using recycled plastic, the only thing is there isn't many colour choics and the plastic won't be that smooth, I'll give it a go though.

Try using small nail scissors and cut out the general shape first and then go back do the detail work little by little so your not cutting on the big piece the whole time. This should help and make it it much easier. You could also try an exacto knife.
