MEN!! what can i make?
How about some braided bracelets? I know it sounds girly but with dark brown leather or something it looks really cool and my brother and a friend of mine loved them and wore them all summer long. Also a case to hold games for a gameboy or psp etc?
That's true--Shlomi loooves bracelets; he is currently wearing at least 3 (a cloth band from a rock festival, a leather one, and a friendship-style one I made). Too bad I can't make him another one... I'd be set. ;)
This year, I'm not quite sure what to make for him, because I've made him all sorts of things that I can't really repeat, or that I made for ex-boyfriends, and gee... what a great idea THAT would be.... ;)
I'm going to set aside some money so I can buy nice things for him, but I still want to supplement what I buy with something made. Things here are so expensive!!
He likes those little crocheted creatures with the smiley faces.... is it possible to knit that sort of thing, or would I have to learn crochet, do you all think?
News flash: I have decided that I want to knit or crochet Shlomi either a salt shaker or an olive. Anyone have advice/words of wisdom for me, the girl who can't crochet OR knit in a round? ;)
oooh just thought of one!! i managed recently to crochet a scarf for my daughter (using a kids crochet kit!!lol) so maybe i could do a black or grey one for the men?! ooooh!! haha
Witchie Rachie: as you can probably guess by me using a kids crochet kid i have no idea about crochet to help sorry!!
LOL! It's ok.
make a watch
a while ago i made my hubby a book mark with a picture of me and him and a little poem i wrote him, and i also bought him a book. he really loved it
When we were dating I bought my hubby a book full of interesting facts (he is the king of useless info) and every couple of pages I put down something I liked about him. He still has the book in the exact same condition and won't let anyone else touch it. Awww.
that's super cute Felecity! I am so stumped this year for my boyfriend. I had a huge list that actually lasted me through birthdays/christmas'/anniversaries and valentines days for a couple of years but I am stumped now. It doesn't really help that he seems to have lost the last couple of gifts I've given him- including a pricey piece of designer jewelry.
My big cards have all been played. I found autographed copies of the first three Lestat books by Rice. It took me forever to find one of The Vampire Lestat that cost less than a couple hundred dollars.
I might resort to framing a few of our posters from concerts and shows that we've seen. I also have all three autographed copies of The Body Thief comic I could have framed. But that seems like too much of one silly thing.
When we first moved in together, my husband would bring out this checker board and tell me the story of how he and his grandma would play checkers and she would NEVER let him win. I heard that story about 20 times.
So, while at he was working one day, I framed it and hung it on the wall. He seemed to be very pleased with that. (since most girls are particular about their decorating being just so, and all)
Maybe your guys have a similar memory that, although it doesn't involve you, they'd be happy that you loved them enough to think about it? I know your guys probably have that one story they've told you a hundred times too. lol
lol my boyfriend likes to tell stories about his "glory days" of a womanizer. lol! I guess it's a good thing I don't feel threatened by that.
Still, I don't plan on hanging pictures of his ex-girlfriends around the house.
@ Pinkweeds Your boyfriends a brat! haha
I forgot to include that the little facts i wrote down were on post it notes stuck to diff. pages. I didn't write in the actual book! haha
Another thing I did while we were dating was make a story about our relationship. I printed up pictures of us and included a storyline. He really liked it..he's saved everything I have ever made him so he must!
I may post it as a creation, looking at it now I'm pretty impressed I was able to make it
lol Felecity he is! I'm really not bothered by it though because I know that he loves me more than he loved all of them put together. And I know I get to keep him.
You could make him a bedazzled ball and chain to represent your relationship! haha...my hubby and I joke around like that. It would be funny if you snuke it around his ankle while he was asleep.
Lol ! I know where to get a REAL 19th C Ball and Chain and I've been thinking that when we get engaged that we will have to have our engagment photos with it! It should be brilliant!
