what's brewing in your crafty cranium?

I have a ton of things I want to try. I'm getting to them all one at a time...

first, I have an inexplicably enormous amount of old records. Not cool ones, either. (well, maybe one or two cool elvis, pink floyd albums. the rest are like... mantovanni and laurence welk.

I'm tired of them taking up space in their box. I want them to be something, poor wittle crummy records. I'm going to try painting them. For someone who worked for as long as I did as an artist/illustrator, my walls are shockingly bare. Some cool circular paintings might be in order. {besides, I looove circles} I could use a new fruit bowl, too, so maybe I'll melt one somewhere along the way.

right now, I'm doing something I've been wanting to do for a long time. I made a couple of cardboard box looms and I'm teaching my 5 yr old little gal to weave. We're making coasters, if for no other reason than to satisfy my mom, who complains every time she comes over that she has nothing to put her drink on. (uh... the table, mom.)

Also, said 5 yr old gal starts kindergarten in a few months! {gag} And since I'm not going to spend tons of cash on cool new crap for her, yet at the same time insist that she still have cool crap to wear, I have lots of killer clothes to do up!

And last but not least, she shares a room with her baby sister, who is 2. So I need to organize some sort of system with hooks and pockets or something to keep Kiwi's homework and colored pencils and backpack and all that crap out of Peep's chubby little fingers. Still trying to envision that one.

What are YOU brewing/ trying to think of solutions for? Post em here, we'll help eachother out with ideas and links!

I need to finish my skirt, and then maybe an awesome new bag might be the next thing on my list.

Well, I am working on knitting a simple black and white striped hat, just cause I want one Happy
I am also working on a felted bag, some jewelery, and a tutu.

Oh,and I need to work on my dress I will wear this winter for our schools winter ball (I Hate how they call it a ball, even though all we do is dance to crappy pop music in our small, sweaty gym)

But my dress is going to be light blue, close to my eye color, and a halter top, with a band of gathered tulle at the waist. The dress hits me just above the knee, and has a tulle under the skirt to give it a little volume, and has about an inch of tulle showing on the bottom. I hope it works out, if not, oh well :]

I want to try making some clothes but have forgotten how to thread the sewing machine! I've got some cool fabric - either offcuts from the market or old clothes plus a really cool bright pink flat sheet which I bought from a charity shop for £3 Happy
I'm also trying to think up ideas for my niece's birthday - she'll be 13 and I think that's a really tricky age to buy or make for. Probably try a make-up bag and jewellery and buy a few bits. My sisters also getting married later this year so that's another one to think about and my mum's birthday. I'm on a really tight budget so a lot of crafting coming up. Probably jewellery making and card making.

working on crocheted market bags. This way I can scoff even more at the $15 bags sold in store to "decrease your carbon footprint". Besides, it's something to do with all that scratchy acrylic I wouldn't use to make clothes with unless I was otherwise naked. (I tried plarn... but I hate it.)

Also... working on an idea for a puppet theater. That's at the very end of the list, though. Tired of my entire living room always being rigged up with chairs, pillows and blankets as a makeshift puppet theater - lol.

I'm thinking up stuff that I want to make for my first grand baby who is due next January, but haven't started anything yet till we find out what we're having (boy or girl). But I plan to start soon on knitting a blanket on my knifty knitter since it will be cold by the time he or she gets here.

Other than that, I working on ideas for my Twilight and ATC swaps.

Felt cigs! That's awesome! I love working with felt, but I desperately need to start on a rag doll for a swap and I'm not the best sewer! I get to make something for a boy this time so it's exciting!
