gala dress?

Hi!
In a month or so I have a gala/ ball going on at my school, so I wanted to look for a dress in the holidays-vacation, but the thing is, I don't know what to look for.
First, I wanted to DIY, I still want to, but I'm afraid It'll be too hard for me.
We've got a theme too, so the dress kinda needs to suite the theme: masquerade
Anyone tips on shopping for dresses? (preferable long dresses) and/ or how to DIY one?

thanks

.sorry for my sort of weird sentences/ bad English and stuff.

making one proves harder than you'd think.
if you want to DIY, what i'd do is get a simple dress then add some tulle around the skirt bottom so it ruffles and on to so that it is textured

buying one, i'd go to big stores like marcys and dillards, they usually have so many that you can find anything

here is a link to make your own plaster masquerade mask.

You could try finding a dress at a thrift store and deconstructing it. Maybe sew two diff dresses together and make something truly one of a kind.

This woman gets dresses for $1 from thrift stores then makes them modern. Very good ideas on here!
