if your good with sewing i think it would be an awesome idea to make one. but i however am not. last year i got my prom dress at gojane.com for only $75 dollars. I loved it. They have a lot of different ones for great prices. there under formals. if you do make one definetely post it i would love to see it!

Hi there!
I recently made myself an infinity dress. It's super simple to make and can be worn many different ways.
Check out these 2 sites:

Hope it helps!

Used clothing stores are really great- my dress was an above-knee, off the shoulder, boned velvet dress in a dark forest green and cost between $7-14 (can't remember exactly). I ended up spending about another $60+ to have it taken in since I'm not experienced enough with that sort of thing. Even adding in the beads and thread I bought to embellish it the whole thing was probably about $100. (Shoes, however, ended up being another matter...) It's really a matter of timing though, so go often until you find one you want.

I made my sister's prom dress last year for $40 (and I have enough left over fabric to make a tunic or mini dress). If you can, get your fabric while everything's on sale. I'll try to find pictures of her dress to post for you. Happy

Check out Burdastyle.com its a great site with a decent amount of dress patterns that you can get for free. I would definitely check used clothing stores as well, since you can get some great dresses there for cheap and embellish and cut as you please Happy
