Ye olde Chocolate crunch cake recipie

Please need help.. need to shut my hubby up, so desperate trying to find the old original recipie of chocolate crunch cake, if i remember right it was also served up with pink custard..

Done various recipie ideas.. but he keeps saying.. no, didnt taste like that when i was a kid.

SO im struggerling a bit, as i'm in my mid 30's and he has just turned 60.. been trying to find the right recipie for the last 16 yrs..thats the time we have been together and married...

I rekon, the hunt for this recipie is the original cause of going grey at the age of 24..lol... so PLEASE.. is there anyone out there that can help me..

Why don't you see if his family has a recipe for the cake. Most likely the version he tasted was a family favorite, surely a sister or cousin has the recipe written down, Did his mother have a recipe box, or cookbook she used regularly? I know the red and white checkered Betty Crocker cookbook was popular during this era.

Otherwise I would try finding a recipe for the cake that someone used during the 70's. A recipe can be reinvented many times you are probably trying newer/altered versions with different ingredients.
Hope those suggestions help, I have never heard of this recipe so I'm just guessing.

Awwww thanks for the suggestions.....will keep my eyes out for old cook books..has to be in the 60's era...... as for his family.. there arn't many left to ask,but will do my rounds.....

Apparently chocolate crunch cake is yummie from what hubby has told me...... i rekon he just being picky with taste..... but will carry on hunting.......

AWW thanks Kimmi for your help and searching for me.. will check out those above recipies over the weekend.lol. looks like me and kids gonna be up to our eyes in chocolate crunch cake....erm.. probably get sick to death of chocolate by the following weekend.... put me off chocolate for life.( dunno if thats a bad/good thing).lol
