Going to get a sidecut!!!! Wanting advice!

I'm going to get a sidecut because I think they just look amazing. I'm just wondering if anybody has any tips on how to do it. I just don't want it to look weird with my full bangs. I wanted to get it like Megan Massacre(stupid name, but sweet hair) on NY Ink because she has the little strip of hair then shaved it. I'm just nervous that my hair stylist won't be able to get it look right. I'm pretty sure she's never done anything like this before since we are from a small town and I'm pretty positive no one has done it. And yes I know it's a pain to grow out, but I'll deal with it.

I found a picture of the style I think you are talking about. She has the side shaved with a strip left from temple to ear, is that right? I like it and it looks simple to do. I don't think any stylist should have a problem with this.

Yeah. It's pretty much just shaving a side or section of hair. I will probably be seeing her this week so I am hoping to get it done then.

Just take some pictures along with you. I used to have to do that all the time, especially when I went in to get a bihawk when I was 15 or 16. Pictures can usually really help a hair stylist cut out the right look.

I'm kind of surprised this is becoming trendy again. I just remember seeing people from the small town about 30 miles from here sporting that look in the 90s and never having been a fan of it. I'm sure it won't be completely foreign to her if she is older than 25. She'll probably remember it being a popular look during the grunge era.

Just keep to the plan of having a professional doing it - back in the day i did my own! Oh boy what a mistake!!

I wanted to do it by myself because I just wanted to get it done, but then I decided not to. My hair stylist is my boyfriend's sister and she had done my hair loads of times. I trust her I was just worried about getting it done right because I'm sure she has never done this before.

I know what you mean Veronies, once I make a decision about my hair I want it done right away- I hate waiting to get it done.

Yeah I say take in a ton of photos to help her see what your thinking. Also have you seen Elle Goulding's hair? I love hers! She has almost the same style, but she isnt goth/punk. check hers out too ^_^
