Come behind the scenes at Meredith Joy Designs for a #CraftRoomTour and see Meredith's craft room in Pennsylvania.

My favorite thing about my craft space is that it's a special space dedicated to being creative.

Tell us about your space

I am super lucky that when we finished our basement, I was able to carve out 1/4 of the space for my craft room. On one side of the room, I have my jewelry studio, on the other side is a custom workbench that my dad built for me. That’s where I do all of my other crafting.

I also have a desk for my son to craft along with me. Usually he’s outside in the playroom playing with Legos, but he likes to craft sometimes, too!

What have you done to make your space cosy, beautiful or inspiring?

I love the dandelion vinyl stickers that I have on my wall. That always makes me smile. I have pieced together all kinds of storage for my craft supplies, and I like having them at my fingertips.

How do you keep organized?

Shelves, boxes, stacks, drawers, more drawers, containers, lazy susans, you name it! I have an armoire where I keep all of my beads, and various drawer units for papercrafting supplies. It’s organized chaos, but I can usually find what I need…..

Any tips & tricks for organising supplies?

There are so many different options out there, you really need to figure out what works for you. I have so many different ways I store things, beads by color in sterilite containers, beading wire in a drawer, resin supplies in a box, Inks in plastic trays….. my storage is all over the place and also constantly changing!

Which are your favourite possessions and are there any of your own creations on display?

My favorite possessions? If by possessions you mean craft supplies, that’s like trying to choose a favorite child! I love them all for different reasons. It also depends on what project I’m working on. Display is a subjective term. There are creations in various stages all over the place!

How do you organise your inspiration and ideas?

I like printing out designs and keeping them in binders by project type. And of course, my Pinterest boards are a constant source of inspiration.

Where do you look for inspiration?

There is inspiration all around. It depends a lot on what kind of crafting I’m in the mood for. Magazines, the internet, and of course Pinterest are all great places to look for inspiration.

If you had three wishes, what would you do to make it the dream space?

I have a ton of storage space, but I whenever I start taking stuff out, my workspace gets small quickly! I would love to have more work area. Like a huge butcher block island in the middle of a big room. That way, I can walk around and have a ton of room to spread out!
