    chain = ch
    slip stitch = sl st
    treble = tr (is the american double crochet, DC)

    Please note that I put my stitch markers into the first and last stitch of both straight edges!

    START
    Make a slip knot on your hook and chain 22.

    FIRST ROUND
    wrap yarn around hook, insert hook in 3rd chain from hook and work your first treble (this stitch will be the last stitch of the 2nd rounded end). Work 17 more tr so to complete your first straight edge.

    In last chain work 3 tr : you have just created the first rounded end.

    Now you will start the second straight edge, working its trebles in the base chains of previous straight edge.

    You can work more rounds, just remembering to increase stitches along both rounded ends. The shape of your oval (more or less stretched) is also influenced by the number of chains forming the starting foundation chain : remember that!
