Cook a Mushroom & Summer Squash Toast in #ABiteToEat with The Left Bank Restaurant & Bar in York, Pennsylvania.

How did you get started?

Chef Sean Arnold and his wife Mandy assumed ownership of The Left Bank Restaurant & Bar in 2017, carrying on the 25-year legacy of York’s most reputable restaurant.
Sean, a Baltimore native, has a master of science degree in sustainable food systems from Green Mountain College. He also is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.
Prior to owning The Left Bank, he ran a successful private supper club that explored global flavors and unique dining experiences, earning him a reputation for being an ambitious chef with a distinct perspective on creating memorable dining experiences through flavor exploration.

Where are you located?

The Left Bank is located in downtown York's central business district. We are within walking distance to many of the city's downtown attractions, including PeoplesBank Park, York Central Market and The Appell Center for the Performing Arts.

What are your specialities?

Influenced by Far East, Latin America and European countries, we combine global spices with locally sourced ingredients to create unique seasonal dishes. The Left Bank works closely with local farmers to bring in fresh produce and meats.

What's your personal favorite thing on the menu?

Quail. We use poultry from 4 Ever Moore Farm in York County and combine it with a light quinoa salad and fresh summer vegetables.

What's on the stereo?

We play a variety of music at The Left Bank. Some days it will be rock or indie music, while other days we focus on hip-hop and R&B.

Where else should we visit in your area?

In York, we recommend trying Revival Social Club, The Handsome Cab, Tutoni's Restaurant and Rockfish Public House.

Do you host any special events?

Yes, we typically host Chef’s table events once or twice a month. These special events are built around a wine producer or specific cuisine.

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?

York has an ever-growing culinary scene and should not be passed up. If you're visiting the area, we would also recommend visiting The Appell Center for the Performing Arts (appellcenter.org), Belmont Theater (thebelmont.org), DreamWrights Center for Community Arts (dreamwrights.org) and the York Revolution (yorkrevolution.com).
The community of York looks forward to serving and entertaining you in the future.
